donating $10,000 in free gas to people today, 1st 400 cars will receive $25 a gas at the antioch's valeroveaway starts this morning at 10 and will run until noontime. cars are asked to parking lot behind the gas station when they arrived. representative nancy pelosi was at fisherman's wharf friday to discuss the impact of the closure of california's salmon season. the pacific fishery management council has approved the closure for all commercial and most recreational chinook salmon fishing from the oregon coast to the california mexico border. the decision comes after near record low numbers of fish returned to california's rivers last year. law makers fear the closure will affect all parts of the fishing economy. it's very important that we put a human face on this challenge so often when we hear about salmon we hear this narrative about fish versus people. we need to remind everyone that this is people when we talk about salmon, people who make their living on the water, and of course, i represent a lot of the fishing communities and tribes and tribal members who have depended on health
