andy biggs, a conservative member of the house freedom caucus along with ken buck, republican as well. four conservative members on the house voting no, but the democratic support so little is because of the changes that were added to the bill. speaker mccar thi catering to the demands of his far right, which is threatening to hold up this bill, allowed amendments to go forward that would nix the abortion policy providing to serve members of the military that travel out of state to get ab abortion. also dealing with transgender health care, eliminating health care for transgender veterans would be part of the bill as well. it's eliminating diversity in training programs. it's been a big push. no longer part of this bill. but in talking to conservatives, many of them defending these changes and also arguing that they plan to pressure their leadership to hold the line and not back off in negotiations with the senate. >> when you have a man in a dress that's recruiting or promote ing military, that doest fly in east tennessee. it doesn't fly most places in america. when we get away from

look at some of the questions that we heard from people like andy biggs and others about the ongoing investigations at the doj level of rioters on january 6. that's something that is requiring a lot of extra resources and doj. it's something that from a dollars and cents perspective house republicans could come for come the fall. >> frank, speaking of the january 6 part of this, was thing was a line of questioning about the pipe bomber -- we don't know singular or plural -- from january 6. that open investigation does still seem to be a bit of a thorn in the side of the fbi. did we learn anything new in that exchange? where is that portion of the investigation, something that's been off the public radar for a little while, but is still of great interest to the bureau, obviously? >> i think -- we didn't learn much new today regarding that pending investigation. it's not likely we would learn anything about a pending investigation, except to say, there's legitimate oversight questions today. we should be hearing about pending pipe bomb investigation from january 5 and january 6. we sho

that and seeing what was said and then compare that to what publicly has been said by people like andy biggs, jim jordan who was in the room. jim jordan is the chair of the judiciary committee. if they were to launch an impeachment committee, jim jordan would be in charge of that. we're not sure if kevin mccarthy wants to go there. then you have dan goldman that interprets this differently. there's nuance and interpretation. it's very possible that one side looks at those words on a a sheet of paper and sees one thing. another side looks at words on a sheet of paper around sees something else. that's why when you're not in the room and you don't know the nuancesand where dan goldman tried to play this off, these were casual conversations. they were talking more frequently. he put him on the phone and talked about the weather according to dan goldman. >> neil: so he was spoking before the house oversight committee. his cooperation working with that committee doesn't mitigate this one-year jail sentence he's been trying to put off or get removed entirely, right? >> not at all. there was a lett
