with a check of the forecast before we get to those headlines and for that, we'll hand it over to dave spahr in the weather center. was a good morning, james. good morning, everybody live shot coming in the east bay shoreline and kind of this familiar scenario that we have from the weekend. there's the fog right at the ground a little bit. but you don't go very far up and bam. >> clear. as you can see, much warmer air aloft still hanging up there. we're looking at numbers are to get a couple 1000 feet up there. in the upper 80's. so it's still quite warm upstairs, not as dry as yesterday because of a little passage of a few little showers aloft occurring. here's the golden gate bridge, by the way. still have some delays going on here. we do have a little bit of a breeze on shore as it is, however, not a whole lot the way of clearing few folks. well inland. first, let's get to that little batch of a few little showers overnight and a couple of strikes of lightning with that perhaps too. but a lot of the reporting stations didn't have anything with that. again, that virga phenomenon, just evap

first, we have to get a check of weather with meteorologist dave spahr. today. we're talking about the heat. then the cooldown. where do we sit today? good morning. >> but we're still in that cool down mode or the cooler mode as we got going on with this fog. look at it in place. this is the east bay shoreline just year ground fog in place and also aloft too. so enjoy this moment of the cooling temperatures that we have. it's going to be little chilly along the coast to with those fog clouds will slow to clear progress. we stand now a lot of upper 50's. you can see far to the east bay up to the north. they kind of a hodgepodge of 50's. 54 cover san francisco in 61 for san jose. quick contrast that we have are still trailing in a couple spots. we're continuing to cool down like fairfield, for example, even along the coast here by a couple of degrees. so even colder this morning than yesterday and most of the region. here's our onshore flow. loyally going right to the carquinez strait of the good teens you can see in terms of those readings up to fairfield of 21.
