night for fire crews as well in contra costa county crews spent the night putting out dozens of fire. there were so many we've got kron four's. michael thomas walnut creek with the number and the challenge that they face. good morning, michael. >> yeah, good morning. you know, last night they see that they had 58 calls and 50 of which were firework-related and one of them actually caused 3 acres to burn here in walnut creek. take a look behind me. you can see it's along this hillside. now, again, according to officials, they did have that busy night. they started to get calls around 8 o'clock last night and then around 11 o'clock. actually had 10 calls within that hour alone. take a look at this video that we have from last night scene. and these are from multiple different areas and the one here in walnut creek, it was a grass fire. it was likely caused by fireworks. it took over 3 acres near the 1900 block of white cliff way. and in addition to this location, one acre actually burned over antioch, and that was near hull of late. now, overall, officials say only one serious injury was reported last night due to fireworks, but it was their

thomas on the story for us live in walnut creek. michael. >> yeah, good morning. you know, actually just spoke with fire officials from contra costa county. they actually move the number from 58 up to over 60 calls that they got last night. and they did tell me that those sparklers that were found here by hikers this morning may have played a role in the fire that took place walnut creek, taking down 3 acres. take a look at this video that we have of those 3 acres that were burned according to officials of those 60 plus calls that they got last night. they do believe that 50 or so are firework-related. now many came in around 8 o'clock last night and then around 11 o'clock. they got 10 at the same time. now here in walnut creek, this grass fire took out 3 acres near the 1900 block of white cliff way. i spoke with officials this morning who had this to say regarding this fire and some additional injuries that they had last night. >> possible that sparklers might approve that fire last night. of coutse, some other type of firework as well had a serious injury last 66 year-old and lost part of his hand as a result of handling fireworks. >>
