lincoln high school. she got a notice that the teacher shortage is going to affect some classes including math, english, spanish, physics, biology, that is disconcerting. parents are being told that administrators and substitutes will be able to fill the gaps until full-time staff is hired. we are being told by the superintendent that the human resources department is going to be working overtime, today, tomorrow, friday, and even open on saturday. continually recruiting teachers. on boarding them so that they can do the open positions, jessica. >> the difficulty in this act for others across the bay area, every district is low on teachers. how do you attract teachers and get them in the classroom when you have multiple student bodies that need teachers. >> in san francisco, what they are doing is that they are offering stipends and bonuses for certain classes. about two weeks ago in a notice that that they were up to 74% of staffing for those that are open. there are 24 positions that remain to be filled. as you mentioned, this is a trend that has been going on and has been exacerbated by the pandemic. due to the department of labor statistics, 300 thousand educators left the profession betwee
