miles brower. hurricane will make landfall within the last two hours in and around taylor county in the big bend region of florida. the national hurricane center expects storm surge to reach up to 16 feet in some areas of the big bend region. that level of storm surge is life-threatening. do not go outside in the midst of this storm. if it is calm where you are, it may be because you are in the eye of the storm and those conditions will change quickly. wherever you are, hunker down and don't takei think for granted. this is a powerful storm. there will be impacts beyond the wall. places like northeast florida, 11 tornado warnings and more possible especially in the outer bands of the storm. these are places that are way outside of the cone you see on the tv screen. keep in mind those are dangerous situations. do not drive in flooded streets and assume that downed power lines are hot and live. they will be people working to remedy that. it is very hazardous in the immediate aftermath of the storm. we currently have 54,000 households that are out of power throughout the state of florida, there have been

winds in excess of 100 miles per hour, you can see the really strong core of winds, you know, right there. so extreme wind warning until 9:15 for the counties of dixie and taylorso the core. >> strongest winds making landfall now. we will get the imminent landfall, the actual eye of the storm coming across land within the next few minutes, really for the next, i would say, half an hour or. so tornado watch in effect. we do have the potential for tornadoes as the center of circulation comes on shore. you have counterclockwise motion with those bands moving inland. already the spin in place. look at the latest storm surge, 5.5 feet in cedar key. apalachicola 1.8 feet. we have been stressing that this area of the panhandle of florida has never experienced a storm of this strength in recorded history. that's why this is such a big deal. here is the latest track. again, we are getting the information every hour from the national hurricane center. expecting an imminent landfall. that lowest pressure point moving on shore in the big bend. and then we are dealing with a category 2 hurricane that moves across georgia and the carolinas. so that's part 2 of this storm. i
