than 8 hundreds of exhibits from ukraine curator of the numismatic collection of the national museum of american history the main exposition of money in the united states for more than a year ukrainian hryvnias and ancient coins have been given a special place in this museum in march february 2022 when we constantly heard from russia that ukraine has always been a part of russia, i thought that the objects of our national collection actually tell a different story and i think that they tell more thoroughly about the history of ukraine, so i i started looking for the collection to find out what was issued in how many centuries did ukraine either issue its own currency or pass currency through trade routes and neighbors ? the period did not include being part of russia , ukrainian money in the historical museum was collected for many years, they were transferred here mainly by private collectors, the main part of the collection is in storage facilities closed to visitors however, some are displayed next to american coins and bills, our goal in this gallery is to show american history in a global context .
