caltrans has closed all westbound lanes of interstate 80 between vallejo and hercules for a repaving project. this is video taken within the last hour showing the work that is already underway. the lanes will reopen on tuesday as ktvu's jana katsuyama shows us officials want to make sure travelers are aware of this closure. the stream of traffic on i-80 had some bay area drivers getting out of town or getting fueled up for those labor day weekend road trips. we're going up to lake berryessa and we're going to have a little barbecue up there. but there are some new challenges this year with the closure of i-80 westbound between vallejo and hercules. it is a little bit of an inconvenience, but that just means you got to leave a couple minutes earlier to get where you got to go, completely redoing all of the lanes on i-80 from crockett out to hercules. caltrans says the highway will be closed through tuesday morning with cars being diverted to the benicia bridge. sfo has posted alerts on the airport website. we want to make sure that people see that information and especially people tha
