bring in kristi noem. a potential 2024 presidential contender herself. she declined to enter the race. she will be standing alongside donald trump here in rapid city, south dakota, later tonight. she served eight years in congress as the at-large member of the u.s. house from south dakota before running and winning the governorship here in 2018. she rose to republican favor during covid. she was one of those republican governors, along with the likes of ron desantis, who really created support nationally and attention, despite the relatively small population base here in south dakota. i do want to mention, yasmin, i had conversations with several of the folks here waiting outside for donald trump's arrival and kristi noem's, and there's groups -- ten of them, i asked who they would support to be donald trump's vice presidential pick, just open-ended, and seven out of ten told me the name kari lake, unprompted. just one of them told me kristi noem and just one of them said nikki haley. so kristi noem, there

neil, kristie, thank you for being here tonight. kristie, it seems inevitable that the 17 others are going to be divided up. as we just pointed out through the extensive and, may i say, sophisticated graphics department here at this program, dividing up those 17 is tetris from hell. i mean, how do you think the judge is going to begin to go about it? what are the priorities, in terms of determining these next groups? >> so, when i've prosecuted large cases, having 20 to 30 people in the case, usually, the judge will ask for some input about the groupings of defendants. say, if the evidence is all belated to the coffee county scheme for example, would it make sense to try all of those defendants together? so that you're getting an overlap in the counts and the evidence that the jurors are going to be hearing. same for the other schemes. you've got very discrete schemes, even though it's all one big r.i.c.o. conspiracy. so, the prosecutors are probably going to go to provide that input, about what makes sense. the judge also signaled,

kristy, what's your reaction to that?>> it's -- i mean, i can't imagine they're familiar with the evidence. this has been a five-year investigation. if there was evidence into foreign lobbying crimes, i would think we would know it by now, and it's very bizarre that they had had this initial agreement to the tax charges and the diversion on the gun charges, and there was this question about whether there was immunity for the foreign lobbying. that's something you iron out pretty clearly in these plea agreements. you say here is what you are being immunized for. the language there was pretty vague in what they agreed to, and it seemed like it fell apart at the transcript when the judge actually asked questions about it. and then after the agreement, you know, mr. weiss put out a statement saying, well, our investigation is ongoing, even though defense counsel for hunter biden had said, well, it's been resolved. there didn't seem to be a meeting of the minds here. and again, i think after five years, you know, put up or shu

cnn's kristie lu stout has been following all of these developments with us. she is with us now from hong kong. truly a significant meeting already. we believe there is more to come, including they're going sit down for a meal. what are we learning so far about the extent that these two leaders are willing to go to forge possibly a new closer relationship? >> well, this is what we know. and the meeting is just wrapped. the north korean leader kim jong-un and the russian president vladimir putin, they have met at the cosmodrone. the talks have ended after more than an hour. that's according to russian state media. and earlier they shook hands, they greeted one another, they toured the facility at the space port in russia. and kim, he signed the guest book. we see on camera writes this prose saying russia which gave birth to the first conquers of space will be immortal. his sister was also seen on sight, she is a high level official, kim yo jong. ahead of the meeting, putin said kim showed great interest in space and rocket engineering. and putin also said that
