kriti: some strong language from president ursula speaking to francine lacqua.e story were joined by oliver crook standing by. the european auto space really butting heads with china. were going to get a little more information later will be get some of the eu auto sales numbers. what are we expecting here, what are we watching? oliver: it has been a strong year for sales here in europe and we are expecting that to continue in the month of august. according to b.i. they have estimates out expecting the comparison to be 18% up from 22 year to date. it is a significant uptick for sales here but the weakness might be in the back half of the year because a tough comparison with 2022, sales picked up in the back end of the year. and all this economic uncertainty. are you going to buy a car when you're not sure about what's going to happen? we care about ev sales. we expect volkswagen to hold 22% of ev sales market share in europe, tesla had 18% and with all the worrying about the chinese automakers in europe i only have 5.6% of ev sales in europe. this is a low base.

francine: my conversation with kiriakos mitsutakis, next on" leaders with lacqua." prime minister, you have a second mandate from the greek people. how do you think that will out folding the coming years. >> first of all i am very happy, very honored and very proud to secure a second mandate. we got a higher share of the vote than in 2013, something that was unusual for increment governments in these difficult times. i want to make sure you use this mandate to drive forward an aggressive reform agenda and to make sure that greece makes up for the lost ground of the crisis and actually converges with europe at a fast pace. a high growth rate is for me, my number one priority. it will give us also the physical space to drive through important changes in health, in education, and in other policies that i care about. francine: you are very confident that you will get investment-grade. what does that change in terms of possible extra investment coming into the country? pm mitsotakis: it changes a lot of things. there is currently a lot of capital that can be invested in

francine lacqua sat down with the chairman and ceo of roubini macro associates and asked if he sees a. >> compared to six months ago, we see a real hard landing for the global economy. but i think that there is -- on whether they are going to open a soft landing. that short and shallow recession has already started in the euro zone. very high inflation is probably headed toward a recession as well. united states, the jury's out on whether we will achieve a soft landing or a short and shallow recession. >> that depends on what, the u.s.? is it fed policy or the tight labor market that could suddenly collapse? >> hiking rates above 5%, the economy has gone recently above potential. that is good news in terms of achieving soft landing, but is actually bad news for the fed to get the fed is not done yet. may have to hike once more, twice more. the more that happens, the more that potentially there might be a shallow recession. economy will be reasonably strong even if it is slowing. >> what our markets most misunderstanding about the world economy and how equities should behave? >> in chi
