first, ginger conejero saab joins us live from the courthouse in brentwood city. i know the shooter appeared in court this morning. >> reporter: that he did, marcus and laura. cameras were, however, not allowed inside the courtroom, so the video that you will see of the accused man is of his past court appearances. now, he pled not guilty to charges of murder and attempted murder last week, but today was his arraignment. but the judge granted his defense's request of -- to continue his arraignment until next month. now, his next scheduled court appearance is february 29th. he remains in custody on a no-bail status. just steps away from the courtroom where he made his appearance in court today, the impact of the mass shooting last year still deeply felt by county leaders and law enforcement officials here in san mateo county. in their morning meeting, san mateo's board of supervisors, san mateo county board of supervisors commemorated the lives lost a year ago today with a moment of silence. the victims' names were also read aloud. san mateo county sheriff's office

and if you do, you are being asked to call brentwood police in oakland. an impromptu sideshow took over an intersection in a residential neighborhood. this was over the weekend, and a neighbor took video of the event, which took place yesterday around 5 p.m. this was on park boulevard at spruce street and seventh avenue. the neighbor said this was the third or fourth sideshow in that neighborhood, but the first time he had seen it in daylight hours, which drew as you can see from this video, dozens of people who were out there to watch oakland police say everyone left as soon as officers arrived. and in vallejo , police say officers impounded three cars after two separate sideshows. also over the weekend, police say the first sideshow drew 300 people to the intersection of highborn street and wilson avenue after midnight on saturday, and the second took place the next day around 130 in the morning at north camino alto and sereno drive. police say all occupants were either cited or arrested, and each car is going to be impounded for 30 days, incurring fees
