i'm reed cowan with two trail blazing women. >> i'm gianna franco. straight to traffic. if you are headed to the bay bridge, look at all the flashing lights on the lower deck of the bridge. getting reports from chp that this is a deadly crash and unfortunately on the lower deck near that treasure island on ramp. there are lanes blocked and several lanes at least two to three lanes and here's a different perspective. more of a birdseye view. and lot of activity there on scene. we're just getting more information in and as far as traffic goes, as far as the backup goes, it's countercommute and you are going to see less cars in that direction. but again, this is going to be a very slow commute for very -- lot of people if you are planning on traveling out of san francisco into the east bay. these closures can take several hours especially for the investigation so we will keep an eye on that for right now thouon the lower deck, eastbound bay bridge, three lanes blocked due to the deadly crash. >>> another live look outside on this thursday morning. this is a different perspe

reed cowan is off today. i'm nicole zaloumis. now taking a live look across the bay area. the rain is here to stay. it's another first alert weather day. showers and thunderstorms are likely again today. oh. that is loud and we've got a preview of what we can expect. the santa rosa fire department posting this video last night of a thunderstorm and take a look at that lightning there. and that comes with a lot of rain. people also got caught in torrential downpours in santa rosa last night. >> yeah, real mess there. and further south, the car flipped upside down on the side of highway 17 and santa cruz county and slick road conditions could be the reason. thankfully the chp says the driver was able to get out and wasn't hurt. checking in on the pg&e outage map. pretty scattered right now. latest numbers show about 1500 customers across the bay area are in the dark. most of the outages happening in the south bay. with over 900. keep you updated with new numbers throughout the morning but yesterday, jessica, it was sort of a little bit of everything. i saw lightning and time

i'm reed cowan and thank you for joining us. drop comparisons right and only leads you to sadness. >> i know. >> they are really cute. >> i'm nicole zaloumis. and we have a lot of weather on this thursday. we went from a cute family to not so cute weather outside. >> yeah, let's look outside live right now on this thursday morning. it's a first alert weather day. so that means that we need to be on alert. think of the rain that you are going to see in the bay area as kind of a much lighter version of what our friends in tahoe will be getting. it's packed with snow. in fact, looking live right now at the sierra and the expectation the storm will blanket the area with record amounts of snow. it's going to get unsafe and fast. so the warnings are already out and in fact, ladies, caltrans to all of us this morning, just stay off the roads. and the roads other than that one car going there do look like ghost towns. they say the reason they want us all off the roads, not only for our own safety but for the safety of the crews who are
