since thursday, we've measured over 2 inches of rain in mill valley, calistoga, over 3.5 in ben lomond and the reservoir there. those places completely got soaked over the weekend. other places like oakland and fremont almost an inch, and san jose got rain shadowed, not even three-quarters of an inch. it's a brand-new workweek and month. there are a chance of some spotty showers for this afternoon as the activity is remaining to northern california. that will be similar to how we start on tuesday with some light, spotty rain, before we start to tap into possibly more activity as we go into late tuesday on into wednesday. this system, if you saw it there, is trying to hug the coastline, but the models continue to push it south of san francisco and into parts of the tri-valley and san jose before completely getting out of here for our thursday. how much rain is the system going to talk about? very weak again. it will stay mainly to northern california, southern oregon, where places like ukiah and santa rosa could get a little more than the rest of the bay area. as this midweek storm cont

now in calistoga. all right. some of the wind forecast as we head through the next couple of days. you start to see the red, the purple, those some strong gusty winds, maybe 30 to 40 miles an hour or so. you get over the mountain tops, especially it's going to be windy at times, especially in the north of the east bay hills. but it's going to , especially on thursday. and that's when we'll see the maximum effects of those winds. but high pressure go to build in overhead. storm clouds rolling well to the north. and that means we're nice and dry. think as we head in toward wednesday and thursday are looking good to see the effects of that offshore wind blowing out there, too. in fact, overnight as we head in toward friday, more of the looks like it's going to hold that way until we get into late next week. so all that is some good news. if you like the dry weather now, temperatures, well, they're going to start to reflect the warmer weather coming our way. numbers popping up in the 50's and 60's in the san francisc

arctic air settling in and even now some of these temperatures in the north bay down to 42 degrees in calistoga. yeah, starting to get chilly in spots and those are the areas that we're going to first see some of the snowflakes beginning to fall over some of the mountains. windsor generates a big time waves out along the coastline, 15 to 20 footers are ripping along the coastline tomorrow. so watch out for that. don't get knocked off the rocks along the beach and also a high wind advisory in effect along the coastline into the east bay and the north bay, too strong. gusty winds hgve been pounding and bringing down trees around the bay area today could see still see some strong gusts underneath some of those thunderstorms. fact, you're seeing some of these winds. 2030 and even some 40 mile an hour gusts along the coastline, mountaintops even stronger than that. but here we go. as we head through the night tonight, showers going to continue on and off throughout the night tonight. and boy, it's been coming down in spots. you can see the thunderstorms rotating on through and some heavy rainfall as

mill valley almost 2 1/2 inches of rain, but higher totals through calistoga. everybody saw about three-quarters of an inch to maybe an inch of rain in concord. really, the santa cruz mountains, 3 to 5 inches of rain. so it's been a really wet couple of days. we're going to be in for a few more spotty rain showers throughout the day. we're starting in the low 30s in the north bay. as we go throughout the day, it's still going to stay cold, but mainly towards parts of lake county. the rest of us will warm up just a touch, as we've been seeing some really cold days. temperatures today, 57 in oakland, 59 in san jose and 56 over in fairfield. we'll keep those overcast skies as we go throughout the day. most of the activity should hang near the north bay as the system tries to make its way into the middle part of the week. we'll start with slick roadways for tuesday and spotty showers, but it won't be until we get to wednesday when we start to see the system that will hug the coastline for many of us and then kind of dip to the south as we go throughout the day. and
