what's going to happen with the coliseum? here's a live look at the coliseum right there.is that prized piece of real estate, which is in limbo today. some progress. oakland agreed to sell its half of the coliseum site to a black led investor group. but what about the a's half of the coliseum? here's nbc's gia vang. it is my privilege to say that the african american sports and entertainment group has agreed to the terms to purchase the city of oakland's share of the oakland coliseum. yes that's 50% for a minimum of $105 million for the 112 acre property. the mayor says the potential sale to the african american sports entertainment group, or acg, will also help fill the city's budget shortfall. but she says, more importantly, the future of the coliseum complex, as envisioned, will include the development of thousands of much needed new affordable units and market rate housing, increased curated outdoor green spaces, commercial and retail spaces. construction on that won't be able to start for an estimated 2 to 3 years, according to acg, and that's if all goes as planned.
