you led this tour of the permian basin.our. >> well, thanks for having me on with you, maria. we talked a lot about the permian basin, the largest secure supply of oil and gas in the entire world, how important it is to our national security. i've been asking the administration for three plus years to come to the permian basin. we know they have an all out aassault on fossil fuels, it's nowhere more present than it is here. in this case epa director came. look, the fact is, they've been threatening lots of different things. we know it's an endangered species, they use every tool available to try to slow or stop production, they do it all over the country but here the threat of non-attainment which relates to ozone and the gases being emitted were a concern to the epa so i said why don't you come out here and see in 2010 to now, we started with a million barrels a day in 2010, now we're doing almost 6 million barrels a day, in 13 to 14 years we increased production five fold and reduced harmful emissions by over 30 30 plus p

katie: the permian. your expectations, what you see there?e have a great position on the liquid side. the major pipelines boil down to corpus christi. the largest exporter of crude out of the u.s. or east to the gulf coast refineries around houston. that continues to grow. we announced building more storage and expanding pipelines in the permian. we announced a new venture, more access to the permian with new pipelines. we have a new opening season marketing effort to build another pipe in the permian. the u.s. has gone from nowhere on the front next, 10 years ago, to be the largest exporter of natural gas. katie: changing of the guard. not sure how many expected that. the trans mountain pipeline. tmx. may 1. the feeling is it could steal volumes currently shipped on your pipelines. re: modeling? greg: that was expected service before 2020. that was a concern. that's an old thought that we may lose volumes. we continue to see record volumes on the mainline which competes against tmx. we have a better toll put in place for customers last year.

we had plans for a base permian operation to get to net base zerbe 2030.oved through our rigs and facilities out there to electrify them. what we exited to when we announced the pioneer deal, they had a 2050 it in zero aspiration. we're transitioning that into a net zero plan by 2035. that's a piece of work we'll bring that acreage and that organization into the work we're already doing in our base permian and feel good about the progress we're making there and the potential that we'll realize in getting to net zero. >> part of the issue i remember at the time it's not just enough to electrify, but you have to make sure the electricity you're using is being generated in a sustainable way. is that the case? >> absolutely. we're doing a lot of work to make sure we're getting renewable power into the facilities. all that is part of the plan we put together and so we will get to net zero by 2030 for our base operation. certainly by 2035 fort permian see what we can do that to bring that forward and marry wit with our base operations. >> your recent earnings ca
