the hazy sky over santa clara county. there's a thin layer of smoke from wildfires that are sort of in california, oregon, washington, all the way up through canada, they're sort of this thin layer is overlaying the bay area and we're seeing some smoky and hazy skies. aaron richardson is a spokesperson for the bay area air quality management district. on thursday, the agency issued an air quality advisory that's been extended again through tomorrow along the coast, we're seeing good air quality, and a little bit in the east bay. in the south bay, we're seeing some moderate air quality. we're not anticipating that air quality at ground level. will be too bad. if we did, we would be issuing a full spare the air alert. he says the advisory is more of a precaution, while moderate air quality won't affect most people too much. but anyone who's especially sensitive, who's got preexisting respiratory or health conditions, you know, might want to not be outside as much. well, a number of fires are burning in the west. the park fi

we do have hazy conditions. good evening to all of you.is just for parts of the bay area, as smoke from the wildfires in the western u.s. and canada still lingering across our region. so the air district has extended the air quality advisory through tomorrow. good to moderate air quality for your saturday. but notice sunday everyone is in the good air quality mode. and that's because the breeze will pick up. temperatures will certainly drop, but the wind will kind of turn over the atmosphere. right now, purple air is showing moderate air quality across many parts. some poor across the inland east bay and the north bay air quality from air now is good to moderate. if you are sensitive to the smoke. i would try to avoid exposure by closing your doors and windows. if you possibly can, and definitely put your ac on recirculate if you have it. as we look at the hourly forecast here, it's not thick, heavy smoke, but it is going to be smoky at times, hazy at times going into tomorrow morning it will linger. and then for the evening hours tomorrow

it's a bit hazy around the bay area right now. numerous fires not only burning here, but really around much of northern california, the bay area so far so good, at least for now, allure seeing most of an onshore flow. so, yeah, it's been hazy at times. southern california really getting the brunt of it, though. they've continually seeing a lot of red and some even purple there. that is the very poor, the worst category far as air quality is concerned. the bay area. yes, he's out there again today. a lot of yellow showing up outside high pressure overhead. and that's compressing some of those plumes a little bit closer to the surface. i think that will begin to change a little bit tomorrow, but more so as we get into latter part of this week. here's a smoke forecast model. so good news for us as we take you through the night tonight. you can see that big plume of smoke off the park fire in northern california. but this into motion here, you can see more of a westerly component to the wind taking a lot of that smoke well away away f

but if you notice hazy skies, that is why. >> at this hour, we do have pockets of moderate air quality in the >> east bay, mainly by the delta. so we have several wildfires in northern california and even the pacific northwest direction of the wind speeds is that bringing some dress smoke to us and then us looks like monday will be much better. that a dark color there indicates cleaner air. but the park fire smoke across your fire. smoke is impacting the tahoe area. usually go to the mountains for fresh air. so that's not the case this weekend, moderate air quality expected over by the coast. but we look okay tomorrow and we have a low pressure that will be taking over tomorrow. that ridge of high pressure that's been warming at moving out of here. and this you'll notice the change starting tomorrow are we down to the 80's in our inland communities? you also notice some cloudy skies as well. usually we see this pattern in the evening with the fog and linger on into the morning around lunchtime. we do get a break in the clouds, but the late afternoon and evening, those clouds return. so

we do have some hazy sunshine out there right now as we look up from san jose. the hazy skies result of wildfires both trying to blow in from various parts of the state wildfires in progress right now. it is mainly going to be elevated into the atmosphere. more clouds, the possibility of a few sprinkles of light shower inland to the east bay on friday. talk about that at 6:00 but it is an outside chance here. better chance it will be elsewhere in the state but a normal august weekend. tim, running within about five degrees or so of average but maybe a little bit out of that inland but no extreme heat for inland parts of the bay area. as we head into the first weekend in august. in terms of the air quality, despite the air quality adviser that we have today, the air quality was in the good category for all parts of the bay area and the worst that we are going to see is moderate air quality levels whenever those plumes of wildfire smoke drifted through. mainly going to be elevated into the atmosphere so moderate is the worst view we get at ground level mainly inla

yeah, it's a hazy. definitely get some low clouds moving him and got some upper level clouds that kept temperatures a little cooler than they had been. so little cooler for today. and then we bump up a little bit tomorrow as high pressure starts to strengthen ever so little. in fact, is going to be slightly above more murde normal tomorrow afternoon, especially in the warm inland spots. so we're in for a lovely weekend. no doubt about that. however, the fires are burning and that is the big concern, especially the park fire. there are fires to our south and to our east, to our north. and here's the park fire. we've got a concern is at least 24% containment at this hour, which is good. we need to improve on that. least we don't have strong winds. so that's a big help in terms of the fires and at least our air quality of the pretty good tomorrow. we're not going to see much in the way of really of smoky smoggy fired skies. so it all goes off to the east and to the north courtesy of the winds. thank goodne

you wouldn't guess that kind of heat is on the way, seeing hazy sunshine out there, but we do have a heat advisory just for the santa clara valley and it's just for tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. this is really the only location around the bay area where the weather service indicated it's going to be dangerously hot, but it won't be the hottest spot across the entire region. current temperatures now, you wouldn't guess we're talking about the inland heat returning tomorrow because inland temperatures now are in the 80s, some spots in the 70s, 60s around the bay with low 60s around the coast. in fact, san francisco is cooler than half moon bay. highs tomorrow return to the 70s in san francisco and oakland, only about 5 degrees above average and only about 10 degrees above average inland tomorrow, around 90 in san jose, upper 90s for inland parts of the east bay. everywhere east of the oakland hills has a better chance of approaching 100 degrees. we'll talk about the cooldown that kicks in later this week coming up in a few minutes. >>> a huge setback for google today after a f

it's still hazy out there for parts of the bay area. the haze and smoke will increase a little bit tomorrow morning. and then continue to move on out, but i think sunday will be a better day. but the air quality advisory by the air district was extended through tomorrow. as you will notice. good to moderate air quality tomorrow. but sunday, as that breeze picks up and it turns cooler, good air quality is expected on live doppler seven. you are seeing that there's only some fog lingering near the coastline. a breeze is picking up 36 miles an hour in san francisco. it's an onshore breeze out towards the delta, 22 miles an hour and a live view right now from our exploratorium camera. it's just blue skies, 61 in the city, 68 in oakland, not far behind hayward, 80, in san jose. and it is 59 in half moon bay. a few patches of fog right around sutro tower from emeryville. you can see mid 80s in santa rosa, comfortable napa, petaluma in the 70s, and you've got low 90s. so a little bit warmer in some areas like concord and livermore. san rafael

we're going to see moderate air quality across the bay area looking a little hazy out there. for mountain view we'll see temperatures in the low 60s to start as we go throughout the day, it's going to be heating up again, going up to 80 at lunchtime and then into the mid 80s for later today. now some temperatures still pretty hot, but we're not as hot as yesterday. each day we're going to see those temperatures coming down a couple of degrees. so today for morgan hill we're looking at a high of 92 and will be in the mid 90s for east san jose. look for those upper 90s again for antioch as well as concord walnut creek 96 degrees. martinez will hit a high today of 91. still really hot. there and some mid 80s for hayward, but it's going to be very comfortable for half moon bay and then for much of the peninsula, we're in the mid 80s in san francisco, 70 in the marina district, and for the north bay, 91 in santa rosa and 102 in ukiah. so look at what happens as we get closer to the weekend. we're seeing the high pressure now, but an area of low pressure, this will be a storm syste
