[applause] >> good morning, ladies. how are you? thank president and ceo of higher heights, the political home for black women. we were built for this moment. black women have been the architects of our democracy. in 2013, when black women marched at the back of that line headed by the women of delta sigma theta, they helped to build this moment. when fannie lou hamer addressed the democratic national convention so we could be here, she helped us build this moment. then i was so inspired to hear barbara lee, who helped inspire this moment in 1972 when shirley chisholm boldly came with her leadership to help build this moment. the work of higher heights is helping mobilize to elect black women. we help them vote, run, win, and lead. major games in the last 10 years since we were founded in a small brooklyn cafe. black women have been leading from shackelford, the first black woman to be mayor of a top 100 city. she hopes to build this moment. in 2014, we had just on
