reggie. a 47 year old woman and a 14 year old boy from san jose were killed in that crash. authorities say the wrong way driver was rushed to the hospital. it's unclear if he's in custody right now. police got reports that someone was driving a truck. the wrong way on state route 85, in san jose yesterday afternoon. chp says a pickup then collided head on with a white tesla suv. authorities believe the truck was heading south in the northbound lanes for several miles. the driver is a 39 year old man with florida license plates. he suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital. authorities are still investigating why he was going the wrong way. >> we could have a situation, a case where we have some level or type of impairment. as i said at this point, we can't say that's undetermined in in this specific case, whether impairment is playing a role in this particular crash. >> chp diverted traffic from 85 to northbound 87 while they investigated that crash. the freeway reopened hours later

reggie. yeah most of the rvs are gone this morning.'s one rv behind us right now, but that one just got here probably about 15 minutes ago. there are signs that have been posted saying people can't park there between midnight and 6 a.m. until mid september, and those rv residents had a deadline of midnight to leave or risk their rvs being towed. yesterday, there were still about two dozen rvs out here on zoo road in san francisco, and city workers have been meeting with these residents to give them housing, resources and vouchers for housing. in many cases, some of these rv residents will qualify to get a percentage of their rent paid by the city for up to three years, but san francisco will not be paying for people's rent indefinitely. city workers say it's a case by case situation to help get people into housing now as a way out of homelessness, and many of these residents had moved from winston drive. they were also pushed out of that road after the city implemented a four hour parking restriction for an upcoming repaving project he

. >> yes, reggie and the majority of unhoused people who were offered shelter earlier this week have refused it. take a look at these numbers right here. data from the san francisco healthy streets operation center shows a total of 41 people were contacted on monday, and tuesday. all were offered shelter, but 34 of those people refused. that is 82%. abc seven news was at 19th and folsom yesterday. tens had returned less than 24 hours after city workers moved. people who are unhoused from the area. the city's healthy streets operation team says one reason people declined shelter is that in many cases, it's not the type of shelter they want, for example, a single room or a hotel room. the work has ramped up following a recent supreme court ruling and executive order from governor newsom, directing state agencies on how to remove homeless encampments. >> despite the supreme court ruling, the ninth circuit vacating the majority of the injunction. our approach and our work has not really changed as of yet. so we do 72 hour noticing of the ten locations that we address per week. >> when yo

reggie. what you can expect a busy airport.a lot of people arriving here at sfo for their morning flights. i just talked to passenger who says he's expecting a crowded airport, but he wasn't too worried about it. tsa says that they are anticipating their busiest labor day travel period on record. and as the labor day holiday rush starts today, there is one source of relief for travelers lower prices. analysts say that gas prices, airfare and overall travel costs are down compared to last year. sfo is expecting nearly 9% more travelers this labor day holiday compared to last year, with 900,000 people expected to travel to and from the airport for the labor day holiday weekend. they're almost at prepandemic levels. sfo spokesperson doug yakel tells me that labor day weekend closes out the busy summer travel season, as it used to be, that our peak day of the entire year typically happened in july or august, whereas the last couple of years, one of the days around labor day tends to be some of the busiest days. >> so what that tell
