former fbi director chris swecker is standing by.on for us but first, garrett henney is live in chicago. what do you know about the suspected shooter at this point? >> the man they are looking for is 32-year-old joseph couch. he served six year in the army reserve as a combat engineer and does not have a criminal record. police say saturday morning he went to a local gunshot and legally bought an ar-15 style rifle and around 1,000 rounds of ammo. that evening couch climbed down a cliff overlooking the i-75 highway a few miles outside the small town of london kentucky and started shooting at cars on the interstate. investigators say he fired as many as 20 to 30 rounds hitting at least 12 cars in five people. for the third day now, law enforcement is searching that's rocky and hilly area that is so thickly forested that officers say they need machetes and it's like walking through a jungle. schools have been closed, churches canceled and everyone there is being asked to stay inside for their own safety. >> you need to lock your doors,

chris swecker, good morning.ip issues and lack of communication on july 13th, what is your assessment after listening to local law enforcement yesterday? >> yeah, it is indictment of secret service in general, particularly leadership. a lot of people on the committee is thinking this is resource problem. this is not a resource problem. secret service is fully funded for protection for 2023 and diverted 60% of resources to other things other than core mission of protection. they were commplacent and have been for a while. they have been getting by on their mystique and that deterred would-be assassins and that no longer exists. they became commplacent because there was nothing bad happening. now the threats with trump. they were apathetic against trump detail, did not staff it and did not put the a team on the trump detail. not even a comp upon tent team. it is catastrophic, not just cheatle at the top. including deputy director who seems to be auditioning for the job. >> carley: you are talking about ronald rowe,
