strife in the san mateo sheriff's department. we are hearing that there could now be a vote of no confidence on the sheriff's administration. our robert honda has been following the controversy all day for us. robert, what exactly is sparking this vote? yeah, it is kind of an ongoing situation with a lot of moving parts. but essentially what happened is that sheriff christine corpus, she implemented a mandatory overtime policy that increased the amount of hours that sheriffs would be required to work because of their understaffing problem. she implemented this in august, and what the unions representing the deputies, sergeants and lieutenants are upset about is that they feel the sheriff did not consult with the unions before making this policy. now, the no confidence vote is something that's being proposed by the unions, basically targeting the sheriff's chief of staff, victor, only because in discussions with the unions about this new policy change, they felt as though he was sort of undermining the unions by encouraging member
