recent article that you wrote about the fall upcoming books, you wrote that project 2025 architect kevin roberts, dawn to early light, at which j.d. vance wrote the foreword for has been postponed now until after the election. right. again, a very unusual situation. you have this project, 2025, a very high profile kind of list of policies put together by atmosphere, is that the heritage foundation? yes. and, you know, there are all kinds of ties in there. people have worked for trump, who worked on this. the trump campaign has done everything to distance itself from it. and part of that is, is here you have this book, you know, with j.d. vance contributed to that. they're pushing it back because obviously there's concern, you know, it could make the kind of news that the campaign doesn't really want. so in unusual situation, there were a policy book essentially gets pushed back until after the election. tanahashi coates does his name on a book mean instant bestseller. that's a hard one to say. he's obviously, you know, a very highly regarded writer between the world and me, as is. it may be too

kevin bebe. it will probably be. kemi will probably be giving votes to robert jenrick. >> you're not sure?'re not sure? sorry. >> no, no, no, because kemi is more of a threat to him because kemi is more the membership. >> exactly. and just explain what happens when the membership picks a leader of the conservative party that the mps haven't chosen as a favourite, because that hasn't ended well twice in the past, hasn't it? >> we had particularly with, you know, with liz truss, the members picked liz truss and she didn't have the endorsement necessarily of all of the mps. and that ended badly. and i think one of the narratives that james cleverly is trying to put across and we'll be hearing more of this over the next few days, is that actually, look, i have the support of mps now to the members. if you support me, then there's going to be this. if you like this synergy, for want of a better word, between the mps and the party members, there's not going to be this dysfunction. of course , many party members felt course, many party members felt very angry at the way that they felt that rishi

kevin badenoch, she's offering almost a truss liz truss esque revolution in the party to restore its fortunes from as few as 121 mps to getting near labour's figure at the next election . robertk he did enough to stay in the game. he is still offering a new programme for the new conservatives , as he called him, conservatives, as he called him, sounding very like new labour back in the 1990s. i think for me, tom tugendhat has fallen away. he's the fourth candidate, he's stressed, he's obviously his experience in the army and his experience in the army and his work as security minister, but i think i'm not sure he did enough really for me to make it into the final. two mps vote next week , tuesday and wednesday next week, tuesday and wednesday to get down to the final two. we'll know who they are on thursday and then it's onwards via a gb news tv leadership event on october 17th. we'll know who it is on november the 2nd, but politics starts in earnest back next week when mps return . christopher hope, the return. christopher hope, the tory conference here in birmingham . birmingham. >> oh dear me, it's a very difficult one for the tories. all of this, i just don't know whether

kevin badenoch. the first question, you've been quoted in the independent saying that if we get this wrong, there's going to be no party, there's going to be no party, there's no second chance. but robertjenrick might win in that case. are you being a bit mean to him? >> no, no, this is more serious than just rob. we need to make sure that we hand this party to the next generation. we are the most successful party in the history of western democracy . history of western democracy. and we got a great legacy. we've got a hand to the next generation. there is a new centre right party that is eating our vote. there is no guarantee or no expectation that the conservative party must always be that centre right party. so we've got to fight for our survival. we cannot be complacent. we cannot take it for granted. and that is what i mean. if we get this wrong and we continue to lose our share of the vote, reform will overtake us and i do not want to see that. okay . that. okay. >> my colleague, the presenter emily carver, wanted me to ask you both a question. what is your opponent's biggest weakness ? your opponent's biggest weakness? >> my opponent's. well, i have to think through very careful
