marissa parra is in doral, florida. >> reporter: the majority of florida voters voted early and beforen the power of what they are doing. they are battling strong winds and heavy rain all morning, all day, so we have heard from a number of voters who really believe this that power, a first time voter, as well as someone who had knee surgery last week. he said if he can make it out here crutches through the rain, so can you. here's what we heard from the voters. i'll explain on the other side. >> one group i did vote republican, and all the amendments i voted yes. >> yes for abortion rights. >> on the amendments, it's controversial and personal. i'm catholic, so it's not on the 4, of course. >> reporter: looking at the early numbers here, so far registered republicans are leading overall voter turnout in florida. we know that actually independent voters in miami-dade are leading so far on election day specifically. but i will point out something that people have been camera shy to say, so you won't hear it in any of our sound. the number of people i have heard telling me they are voting
