so break out the champaign. i mean, think about this , right? the market stumbled this week, both professional and retail investors though none of them are running for the hills. in fact however, we have to be honest, right? there has been significant carnage in this market. think about this the number of s&p 500 components that changed hands above their 50 day moving average tumbled big time with a big spike after the election all the way down to just 30% from 68%. of course, these beaten down conditions look enticing though, right? and optimism is really still out there. think about the 10:00 we got the latest consumer sentiment number up big time and it is absolutely roaring, the fifth consecutive month, the highest level since april, but what about the fed? right? which of course now has shifted to a hawkish stance. despite the markets recalling after the fomc this chart from ned davis we've used this before and i want to point out this has slower cycles when a fed cuts at a slower pace the markets actually do better. let's bring in jim bian
