let's take a look at san jose. we're at about 42 right now. we don't really climb into the 60s until that noon hour at least. the wind speeds are nice and calm. right now in san francisco, it's about 42 degrees, but we will eventually see that the sunshine will prevail, and that's going to leave us with a little bit more warmth heading into the afternoon. it's also going to keep the dry conditions around, and that frost advisory is expected to expire at 9 a.m, so we should be okay. as far as the temperatures, by the time we get to this afternoon, we're going to keep that pattern holding at least through the end of the week. but i'll be back with a look at the extended forecast in just a few minutes. i do want to check your traffic conditions in san jose. we're looking good.d.i ven't seen any major slowdowns right now. so far. we've had a smooth flow of that traffic. if you look at the speed sensors, green on this map means go. that's doing pretty good. moving along, whether that's in through parts of san francisco, the east bay, down the penin

the palisades fire is now at 772 acres. it started around 1030 this morning in prime wildfire weather conditions. the fire is burning east of malibu, where just last month, the franklin wildfire destroyed 20 homes and other buildings there, and crews are facing extremely difficult conditions right now. the national weather service issued a warning for, quote, life threatening, destructive and widespread windstorms in california today through tomorrow. peak wind gusts are reported at 33mph in that wildfire zone, and it appears some homes have already burned there. we know that schools in the area have been evacuated and some temporarily relocated. this is the largest of three wildfires that burned today in los angeles county. the other two are now under control, including the one on the sunset strip that was threatening homes. of course, we are keeping a close eye on the situation. we're seeing that governor gavin newsom just made his way there and is being briefed by cal fire. we'll have updates on this breaking story on ab

this is a look at san jose. it was a foggy commute this morning for many people on the roads this morning. yeah. take a look at this. this is video from brentwood along vasco road. one of our editors shot this scene on her way to work today. you can see the visibility conditions were very low and very limited this morning. meteorologist kari hall is here. the fog in that area has it lifted? not yet. and it's still going to be in effect. the dense fog advisory through noon. so we've got a little bit more time left as we've seen the fog really moving around some of those areas. this is a look in san francisco where at times you can't even see the transamerica building here. and we've seen in other spots the fog is still with us, and it will be very slow to dissipate over the next couple of hours. still zero visibility in novato and santa rosa. and then we're also seeing that moving through san francisco down to san carlos and through the delta. but it is all clear in san jose, and we're going to have a hazy day tu

a look at bourbon street in new orleans where at least 15 people were killed after a car drove around a police car. the attacker then opened fire on police. it happened around 3:00 in the morning. one witness describes the horrific scene. >> the truck hits the corner and comes barreling through people. throwing people, like a movie scene. like real life, throwing people into the air. they are falling under the car. all that. and so a good friend of mine actually passed away from getting hit. >> the fbi says the driver died after exchanging gunfire with police. that attacker identified as 42-year-old shamsud-din jabbar. he was an army veteran and u.s. citizen from texas. the fbi says an isis flag was found in his truck, as were weapons and other potential explosive devices. law enforcement also identified other possible ieds, located in the french quarter. no groups have taken credit for the attack. speaking from camp david, president biden says it is all hands on deck to complete this investigation. >> and law enforcement and the intelligence community are continuing to look for any c
