the fire chief and city administrators say it will save the city about $5 million. the fire department is already keeping one station closed as part of the budget cuts, and the incoming president of the oakland firefighters union says the city is not stopping with those three stations. and then the city is threatening to close an additional four for a total of seven, which is 30% of our engine companies. and that's unthinkable. i mean, there's no way we can responsibly respond to emergencies like that. there are no firehouses that we can afford to close. we need every rehouse we have and then some, but we feel like we can adequately cover these two firehouses and make sure that our community still receives the high level of service that they're that they've become accustomed to. the fire chief says station 21, where today's announcement was made, will cover for the stations closed during the brownouts. four other stations will assist when needed. the city adminirator says his office is looking for new revenue to help prevent closing for more stations next month, as

i was in that city. nobody is saying we're going to entirely cut new york city off from automobile traffic can be e pedestrian bicyclist paradise. you do need cars. that are not well served by transit. you need people who want or need to get away and a private motor vehicle for various reasons and broaderhe reasons. success is measured there are certain parts of the densest urban areas where you should not limited automobile traffic. of course times square, global comparisons of the places like garden, pedestrian areas of the perished quays, copenhagen, central street. there are some areas where you do not want cars. what's it like a free bus service going to those areas. there are other places you want to narrow the road. you're not going to get rid of the cars there. but we succeeded with the speed and red light cameras that you don't have people driving their 50 miles per hour. making sure they're fitting themselves into the streetscape rather than dominating the streetscape is the goal here. and mayb

the city is good about accommodations some cities are not. are positives and negatives. i think everybody is assuming they are doing their job exists but there are struggles this exist. and pointses we have to get through and over. for one example, recently with the worker's comp issue it is who to ask which teejs reach out to i did not know how to answer it is not local and so how we provide accommodations. it is hard to gnaw information out and find out what that is asked for. and the antiableism training that is great that should be added for all staff to learn to show the diversity here and that's one part. second part is that i'm looking at the identification is tough. because -- you have to think about it and you have to be comfortable and i'm thinking separate from work because it is difficult. -- if the supervisors good about the staff and reaching out for nev.eds and accommodating that is positive and at work. physical disabilities that need that, things like this if you expanded on this more to talk to supervisor busy thinking of th
