golden gate bridge south. it's beautiful here. the sun is set. and here the high temperatures for today. it was really lovely. most areas reached into the 60's again, perhaps a little cooler than yesterday. but 69 degrees in san jose. 66 for half moon bay and 67 in oakland. so the temperatures little bit more. you see more per livermore fairfield in the 50's in some areas in the temperature change a little cooler than yesterday, but not a lot cooler. so we continue with very minor fluctuations. the biggest drop in temperatures compared to yesterday's nevado -11 degrees and said is a -2. on the other end of the spectrum air okay. here as opposed to southern california where the air quality is just terrible and in the areas near the fire. but for us, you see those green dot and that's what we like to see. future wind gusts. we are still experiencing the offshore flow of wind, but it's not as strong as was overnight. the last couple of nights, in fact, it stays mild until look at this with on thursday evening. >> we start to see again, some stronger wind gusts take place. and we have high p

weather like looking outside lenghty of sunshine center tower looking down at the golden gate bridge. nothing but the sunowing you the clear skies from inland out towards the coastline for us. our winds have definitely calmed down. not so much so for southern california. in fact, these dry offshore santa ana winds are set to pick up later on today. high wind warnings, red-flag warnings both in effect through noon tomorrow. a particularly dangerous situation in southern california and still looking at those gradients of yellow, orange and red all across the la metro, even down to the hills above san diego as these areas are prone to those stronger gusts paired with the lack of any sort of moisture means high fire, danger. absolutely critical. high pressure blocking any chances of rain from getting anywhere remotely near us. that means it's very likely that the rest of the month, at least until the very end of the month going to continue to be dry. now, temperatures nice and comforgable for the bay were in the 60's. we've had pretty good air quality yesterday. calmed down nicely. i mean, it was a beautiful

. >> we're taking a live look outside now here across the golden gate bridge. got to see some sune in the bay area today. meteorologist kyla grogan here now with. >> details on what's happened. yeah. so you know, all of that fire that's happening on southern california. that is bad side of offshore winds, kind of the upside of offshore wind is that we have gotten a lot of rain. so it's not as dangerous for us. so we are experiencing this some blue skies and warm temperatures and just some really nice conditions. and frankly, it's not just today that we're going to see these warm conditions. you can see as they roll through the rest of the week. we really don't cool it down again until we get to saturday. and even then it's just cooling it down to a couple of degrees above average. but today, so far proving to be quite a banner day as this high pressure takes hold here. you can see a few high clouds that are spilling over, making it into the bay area. but as we zoom out here, pretty pronounced high-pressure sitting right offshore. you see that ridge, that dome that is allowing us t

let's talk about our forecast right >> a live look outside across the golden gate bridge trying to enjoy the sunnd the dry weather today. going to check in now. it's kind broken for what's happening there. yeah, decidedly cooler day today. this we take a look across the state lots of 50's. a few low 60's out there. but definitely. >> kind of a different day than we had yesterday. but happy to say that we are seeing some really nice sunshine right now, the golden gate bridge. this is kind of developed in the last hour that we went from fully cloudy skies to get a beautiful blue skies out there. just a light breeze. so not bad at all. temperatures starting to hop up here. i did just check out oakland gauge. it looks like this may be over reporting. i am seeing more 50's around there but certainly 50's across the majority of our bay area towns and cities in. you can see with the exception of santa rosa, which a very chilly and right now sitting in the upper 40's winds picked up just a little bit, but still very light and nothing to be concerned about today. just a little breezy out there in spots.

and as we take a live look here at the golden gate bridge, you can see again that sun starting to break. we're really just happened in the last hour that we're finally getting a little bit of a brighter profile rolling here. but still the temperatures are a little cooler than yesterday. no doubt about it. highest numbers right now got 62 degrees in oakland. i've also about got 47 degrees down in santa rosa. hitter is i should say where it has been very chilly today. so obviously this day is kind of the transition between what we were in yesterday. what we're going into on friday, wind has been nice and calm today. you can see that they're just kind of variable in light. and as we take a live look at stormtracker, california, pretty quiet now as that low pressure system that was near southern california has tracked off to the east that has left us with some marine layer. yes, but still some blue skies that are on their way. you can see those clouds going to pull him back in the last couple of hours. so today we should get that long walking with the dog or tomorrow because after that, thi

sun has risen. on just the best possible day for us. so far, golden gate bridge shot. that's a beauty shot for you and the bay area weather looking over the exploratorium over the embarcadero in san francisco is a-ok. people are out jogging this morning. what a great way to start the day. >> here are major concerns. first of all, minor coastal flooding is possible through noon today in parts of the bay area. there's a wind advisory in effect through tomorrow. and also there's an offshore flow with periods of strong winds across the bay area. overall clear, dry weather and some cold mornings for us. so here's the area of the flood alerts, including the north bay parts of the north bay and also areas ringing the bay shoreline, the san francisco bay and the san pablo bay as well. so that expires and at noon or so. and the concern really is coastal flooding may be some parking lots. that kind of thing in terms of temperatures right now. it is so much warmer than yesterday. it's amazing at this hour. plus 11 degrees in santa rosa. plus 12 in napa. plus 11 in half moon bay.

golden gate bridge. in the distance. traffic flowing smoothly. the sun is out.eorologist mark tamayo is back with us this noon. to tell us a little bit more about your forecast. hey, mark. hi, there. >> andre. yeah, it looks like another sunny day here in the bay area. it's been kind of quite the stretch over the past few days. we're just kind of locked and stuck in the same old weather pattern. same pattern in southern california as well. they're kind of dealing with the extended period of high fire danger. the red flag fire warning in place until 6 p.m. today for all these areas. gusts could be over 50 to 60 miles an hour. so today they have been calling it the pds for all these areas. particularly dangerous situation it looks like though one some areas will be extended into thursday for the el of the higher elevations of southern california, as you can see here. so not as much coverage for tomorrow, but still elevated fire danger now cold start in the morning hours. take a look at some of the lows from this morning. boulder creek one site showing 29 degrees a

golden gate bridge. looking real good today. nice to see the sun out there. also nice to see meteorologist kyla grogan in the weather center with more details say they are. beautiful blue skies enjoyed that. we do have a little rain on the way, but it will not get here until very late tonight. in fact, in the overnight hours, really so we should get home just fine. no problems there. but the temperatures have been a little bit warmer today. a lot warmer if you're up in the north bay. check this out. we're 10, 11 degrees above where we were just 24 hours ago. but you can see across the board everybody a little bit warmer for day to day and that is reflected of those temperatures. we're starting to see now while we're struggling, struggling to get to 60 degrees yesterday. 65 right now in san jose. 64 in fremont. you can see we are also up in those 60's and santa rosa about 61 degrees. napa. 61 degrees as well. so a few spots running above average. today. storm tracker 4 show you some clouds that are starting to move into the north bay. that is an indication of

thursday night, but mainly we are tracking before the sun comes up on friday. 4:00 friday through 10:00 a.m. that shows the rain staying mainly north of the golden gate. a couple of splash and dash hours beginning to cross the golden gate. and as we go from 10:00 friday morning through 4:00 in the afternoon, the rain does become more widespread pushing further to the south than what earlier models were forecasting. an equal opportunity event for more of the bay area, so we are looking at that ring continuing to head across the region as we move to the friday evening/friday night hours. a bit steadier or heavier in the north bay. that is where any flooding that potentially try to develop is going to stay as we head into the extended forecast. we are going to be tracking the potential for maybe just too much rain in a short time. actually, i am going to show you right now the amount of rain we expect in the course of the next seven days. potentially lasting for several days early next week. and the estimate center is almost 2 inches of total rainfall. san jose, the bust and boom amounts. only a quarter inch of rain for san jose. the jackpot amount

golden gate, 50s for the most part, 62 degrees in san jose. the fog is not going to last long. it's going to get out of here before the suncause the winds will pick up heading through tonight. the offshore winds will push the marine influence farther away from the coast. the wind advisory for the higher elevations is in effect because in the valleys the strongest wind gusts are mostly in the 25 to 35-mile-an-hour range, a few exceptions. half moon bay could get wind gusts up to 45 miles an hour and maybe up to 40 miles an hour for antioch and fairfield. the central valley close to 50 miles an hour for the strongest winds. let's look at temperatures tonight. those will drop down to the 40s across the board, hardly any variation, above average because the wind will stir the atmosphere around and because the wind is going to stir the atmosphere around, high temperatures tomorrow will be above average, mid- to upper 60s in the santa clara valley to mid-60s east of the oakland hills, low to mid-60s around the bay, low 60s along the coast, low to mid-60s for the north bay, 67 degrees in healdsburg, one of the warmer spots along

golden gate bridge looking lovely. >> kathy trafton joining us now with the weather. and it's a tuesday night, a beautiful bay area, january day with mostly clear skies today into tonight into tomorrow. and the sun set on absolutely gorgeous day. really mild conditions dry, offshore winds, not very impressive, very weak as a matter of fact. so we're in for an absolute beautiful spell of weather. and that continues day after day. not a drop of rain. so here's a look at the bay area. headlines, the dry weather continues again. and we haven't we saw so much rain there for well, we can take a few weeks off. it will be ok as long as we get some more raindrops in the near future. mostly sunny conditions, light winds but was cold and frosty this morning, it'll be cold and frosty again tomorrow morning. the difference is it was an adviser yesterday and some numbers to get down to freezing in santa rosa, napa and in concord. but tomorrow morning, we'll be pretty close to that in some areas. high temperatures above normal. and they're trending a little closer to average. now in terms of the future wind gusts look at offshore and then look how they swing around as we head into wednesday, looks more like mo

golden gate. you do have a little peek of it right here at the coast in half moon bay. >> sun on the left, a very, very thick on the right now. the only spots in the bay that are seeing dense fog advisories do happen to be the immediate coastline. san francisco in the north bay, although we are seeing low cloud cover to fog elsewhere, especially at bridge level. so watch a bridge crossings. it's going to take several hours for this to clear out eventually getting to mostly sunny skies. but this low gray throughout much of the morning will suppress temperatures a bit. right now. we're in the 30's to 40's a cool start to the day. eventually we will see daytime highs rising into the 50's to low 60's. >> reyna quite something that you normally see the sun starting to peek through a little bit. but you can't see that today because of that fog out there like james mentioned, everybody's going slow taking their time and you should too. if you're going to be heading out there because you're gonna hit some fog. 21 minutes on the bay bridge while your san mateo bridge is that about 20 minutes there, 16 for

sun set fire in the hollywood hills has burned more than 40 acres. all right. well, 45 now this afternoon back here in the bay area live look outside at the golden gate bridge overseeinglue skies out there. we are certainly from the golden gate, right on out to half moon bay, blue skies today and very warm temperatures that have to say i've been watching these gauges and kind of double checking. >> because i'm going, is it really that warm there? and in fact, yes, it is. and a lot of places where a little breezy and fairfield right now, you can see about 17 miles per hour, a little breezy out of half moon bay. obviously nothing compared to what's been going on in southern california. but let's talk temperatures because san jose right now at 71 degrees were 60's around the bay itself. 62 san francisco, but head up to the north bay. we're at 74 now in santa rosa. that's at the sonoma county airport. so obviously we are overachieving with temperatures today going well above average, all about the high pressure, the blue skies. you can see not a cloud in the sky today. here as we zoom out, you see a cloud deck that is pretty far off shore. that is where that high pressure
