santa clara county will decide if it wants to ban the fake grass on county land. here's investigative reporter candice nguyen. we recently reported on this battle over plastic turf, and now supervisors are expected to take action. supporters say the ban is a way to get rid of potentially dangerous toxins in plastic turf. critics say health concerns are overblown, and a turf ban would leave fewer fields for kids to play on. this is clearly a very important issue to our community to protect our health. surrounded by experts and advocates. supervisor otto lee drumming up support for next week's vote to ban articial turf on santa clara county land. if approved, it would not force the removal of fake turf. but when the turf wears out or leases expire, the plastic would get swapped out for grass. those chemicals of concern some of them are known to harm wildlife. others are known to harm humans. plastic turf gets dangerously hot on sunny days. these fields can reach temperatures of up to 160°f. only a handful of locations in the south bay would be affected, including a

we go closer to the santa clara valley this afternoon. the winds are light for us today. the temperatures are pretty warm in certain pockets of the bay, and we'll continue to see sunny conditions throughout this afternoon. but as we time this out into the next couple of days, there's some small changes in the forecast for us. for the most part, the winds stay light, pushing offshore for a little bit into this afternoon and into the overnight hours tonight. by tomorrow, areas like half moon bay and pacifica get a little bit stronger winds that will be noticeable in the early morning hours while you're trying to drive to work or school. so just keep that in mind. it starts to die down into our thursday afternoon forecast, gearing us up for a beautiful, beautiful weekend. but another thing i want to mention as we dive into this weekend, we're still dealing with pretty good air quality right now. tomorrow that starts to shift. and then suddenly by friday heading into this weekend, we're now in that moderate category. so just be careful out there. if you do have outdoor activi

the east bay, north bay, santa clara valley, the frost advisory will stick around and expire and thenwe have 60s in-store. a couple things to break apart as we head into the next couple days we have such a beautiful forecast in-store. we are talking about light wind still pushing offshore gusting to five to 10 miles per hour for the most part into the afternoon hours today, evening hours tonight and once we head into a wednesday forecast we see a similar trend. by friday we will see changes in the forecast and a little bit cloudier conditions but dry and as we look at what the climate prediction center have to say, they are showing driver the normal conditions for the next six to 10 days . as we wrap up this month, we will notice we did not receive too much rain. the past year , the past two years, around this time we were receiving really extreme atmospheric rivers and right now we are dealing with dry conditions. the good news is for friends in southern california impacted by the fires, they are gearing up for wetter than normal conditions. some changes in the forecast for them and
