but we first want to bring you some breaking news from santa rosa. santa ra police are at a home where four people have been found dead. this is on monarch court near west third street. from sky fox. you could see the police presence there this afternoon. and police tape across the street. santa rosa police say they cannot confirm the cause of their deaths right now, but they say they don't believe there is currently any threat to public safety. there is no word yet on the identity of those victims, but we do have a crew headed to that scene, and we'll bring you new information as we get it. and now to the latest from southern california. at this hour, w are following least four major wildfires the largest of which is the palisades fire on the west side of los angeles near malibu. we are also watching the eaton fire burning near pasadena and altadena. and here's what we know so far. authorities say as of tonight, at least five people have been killed by these flames. 100,000 people are under mandatory evacuation orders. over 1000 structures have alrea

santa rosa, that's the sonoma county airport 79 degrees so far with a preliminary high of saint helena 78. novato 72. and some low 70s for gilroy sonoma, walnut creek and in santa clara. now, we have been talking, of course, about the fires in southern california. and as far as the smoke forecast model, look what happens as we do put this into motion into thursday. a change in the wind flow could actually bring some of that smoke up the coastline. looks like the bulk of it could be maybe to the south of monterey bay. but if you look to the south tomorrow, there's the chance you could see some haze in some of the bay area skies, but it looks like the concentrated smoke just to the south of the bay area. but smoke forecasting is a very tricky thing to do, so it could always change, but just depends on the wind flow. but that's what we are expecting for tomorrow. palisades fire the winds thankfully have backed off this afternoon, but they are expected to increase later on tonight into early tomorrow morning. same story out toward the eaton fire as well and the relative humidity. it is so

we heard from santa rosa's police chief. he says that deploying drones like thily ould significa cut down response times and should he says make a big difference when it comes to saving lives. >> and right now it takes us on average of 6 minutes. and 31 seconds for an officer to arrive on scene tn a priority. one call perfect example we get a call of a shooting or stabbing at one of our local parks within 90 seconds to 2 minutes that drone could be overhead and it's still taking on average the officer, another 4 and a half to 5 minutes to arrive on the scene. so during that crucial time, that gap between the drone arriving in the officer, we now have a live stream event of we're able to see our suspects fleeing the scene. >> well, officers say these drones would also be useful during natural disasters like wildfires, not everybody is of keen on the idea, though, some say they're worried these drones could be used to spy on them. but in response to that, the police department says these drones would only be used for emergency
