. >> a teen and other work outside from mount tam clear skies. that's nothing new.do have quite the very righty of temperatures this morning, though, half moon bay, an area that's been a bit breezy overnight. you have 63 for your current temp. compare that to santa rosa, which actually fell right towards freezing this morning. and this is comparatively a lot calmer last night overall, not as cold in the morning as yesterday this weekend. we have quite the change of pace. finally after what has been such persistently dry weather through january, this low pressure area is relatively moisture starved. so it doesn't do a time. but what it does do is offer a couple sprinkles possible, especially for the south bay into late saturday and sunday, a few inches of snow in the sierra for southern california. this is the area that's going to have the most impact with saturday sunday and monday bringing some light showers. but some of the first rain of the season to many of these areas. now there's a catch to that. even though the rain is absolutely needed. and so appreciated th

also in the mid 40s, redwood city and half moon bay, and this time from mount tam. so you can see we don't have too much cloud cover, at least low clouds. and that's why the rain has been light, because we can see clear across the bay here from mount tam. but things are dropping down into the 40s in some spots. santa rosa still at 51, but petaluma already down to 41, and we're seeing some mid 40s also fairfield and concord, livermore at 43 degrees from mount sutro. we're showing you a pretty view of san francisco. here's what you can expect. so until about 7:00 tomorrow morning, we'll continue to see these light spotty showers. and then we're going to see some very cold mornings starting tomorrow morning. and this will continue actually through wednesday. there's also a frost advisory. and i'll show you that in a little bit. and as i mentioned, gusty winds, especially in the hills of the north bay with this pattern. so tonight's lows will drop into the 30s in some spots like lakeport near freezing at 32 degrees. we'll see low 40s around the bay like san francisco sa

if you're stepping out live, look from our mount tam cam. it's sunny there as well. here are the current readings at the door. 70 in the san jose. so we're already reaching the daytime highs. very nice temperatures and we have a bit of some offshore winds, very light offshore winds that's contributing to those warmer temperatures. little more breezy in the hills. but other than that, it's pretty calm. i don't have to pause. the future cast model. we don't have any clouds or fog or any trissel to show you. and this sets the stage up for those frosty temperatures. not compared to what there are experiencing across the country elsewhere as we saw a record snow and record cold in the south here, there are still warnings for extremely cold weather and we're talking temperatures in the single digits of these are the forecast highs tomorrow. we have fix in fargo, 8 in minneapolis and we are in the 60's. we're going to be warmer than looks like tomorrow. but temperatures in the teens now we're chilly this morning. we saw some 20's this morning, but it doesn't look like our o

skies out there as we take a live look here all the way from san francisco to san jose head up to mount tam. it's clear as a bell. >> just beautiful high pressure in control. happy to say our wind is not been bad. you see about 16 miles per hour in fai field that 14 out of half moon bay. but obviously that's okay. temperature wise. so let's talk about this. we just it's 77 degrees up in santa rosa. talk about above average, everybody. that's almost, you know, flirting with 20 degrees above average. we're at 65 in san francisco. look at all the 70's here. we've got 72 in concord. 73 in fairfield. 71 in pittsburgh, 70 13, san jose and sonny bill coming in at 71 degrees. even if you get over to oakland, 67, i mean, these numbers are just way up there. it's all about the blue skies and the high pressure that is in control right now. now that high pressure is heating us up. it's giving us the gorgeous temperatures. the skies, unfortunately, its proximity to this low pressure is also giving the offshore wind to los angeles right now, which is causing all of the problem. so let's talk about our wi

windy out there. 50 mile per hour gusts in our higher elevations already can see the camera on mount tam really shaking back and forth. these offshore winds are not letting up over the next 24 hours here right now, gusts exceeding 30 to 40 miles per hour. could see isolated gusts high as 50 to 60 miles per hour for the bay likely to see a few more advisories popping up as of right now they're up in the north bay hills all the way through 10:00am tomorrow morning. very similar set up to last week with this cut off low and that dry offshore wind very much so even more breezy for southern california. wind gusts down south could be 70 to 80 miles per hour. and with that, those yellow orange and red areas on the map are indicating critical fire danger for areas like pacific palisades. the hills around both orange and la county. so these areas right here subject to that critical fire danger as these offshore winds continue. the one plus of the offshore wind. it is pushing the smoke out away from us offshore and out into the ocean. so we have very little smoke impacts across the state. temperat

we got your view from mount tam looking down the bay. also, crystal clear now it depends a lot how strong your winds are impacting how your temperatures have gotten spots like half moon bay, which are very breezy, are actually are more mild areas up in the berkeley hills. it's also quite mild right now due to some strong winds. but those calmer areas right along the bay shore and up in the north bay. that's where you're seeing are cold temps double in palo alto conquered as well as santa rosa in petaluma all down in the 30's right now. take a look at berkeley, though. you're at 60 degrees and a very windy in berkeley right now. so the direct correlation between those 2 factors adding up to quite a variety in temperatures. we do have frost advisories in the in the north and east bay. those will be in effect through 09:00am this morning in mostly for those lower elevations where winds are generally calmer. as for temperatures 60's to a lot more 70's on the map today. if you thought yesterday felt warm, well, get ready for today right now.
