five-and-a-half inches of rain around ben lowman. an inch-and-a-half to two-and-a-half inches of rain on a widespread basis. terrain has a lot to do with it. and the north bay will pick up a little bit more than that. always more effectively squeezing the atmosphere. but two to three inches of rain falling in the course of most of this within the course of 24 hours is a little too much in a short amount of time. this is the winds every six hours beginning at 10:00 this evening. extending to friday morning and it will be breezy. breezy throughout the entire day tomorrow. the forecast model haves been very good agreeing that the windiest time frame will be tomorrow afternoon into early evening which makes sense. that's when the heart of the storm system and we started with the globe on the map. that pin wheel of clouds will be closest to the bay area, squeezeing the atmosphere more and resulting in the 40 to 45 mile-per-hour wind gusts. the whole bay area under a wind advisory. a high wind warning along the coast. be prepared for the p

so like we're talking about the santa cruz mountains over 5 and a half inches of rain and ben lowman kept field over 4 inches of rain. ross, more on the east bay over 3 and a quarter. san bruno over 2 and a half inches of rain. redwood city, tuna, 3 quarters just about and how sunnyvale. that's a lot of rain for sunnyvale as you sit and kind of a wall of rain shadow area over 2 inches of rain and counting, all that rain doing some damage. now we've got flood warnings up along green valley creek currently seeing it running at a moderate flood stage that occur states 64 feet. so that is well above flood stage at 59. also, we're watching a colgan creek seen that also running at moderate flood stage. will flood warnings in effect there as well that running above the flood stage at this time numerous creeks around the bay area could see some rapid rise due to the storms that continue to roll on shore. and so you're going to more scattered showers pop in. but the instability going to give rise some heavy downpours as we head through the night tonight and tomorrow morning to more of that is

we get some really impressive precipitation over 7 inches in reading and more than that, even in ben lowmaninches. and in the sierra, it's fresh snow. couple of inches, a couple of feet that is in some of the higher elevations starting out with rain at the lower elevations because of snow levels. so high. and then we really kick it into gear and looking here, lake county weve got even 48 inches there in clear lake. so forecast highs 50's today. that's not the story is at 50's. maybe a few low 60's. but look ahead to show how wet it's going to be. so we've got the rain and the wind today. light rain on sunday and then we just go through a series of very wet days, mostly cloudy on wednesday with again, a chance of rain and rain likely on thursday. and then finally on friday, mostly cloudy skies. so batten down the hatches, get your raincoat and get your umbrella handy as you are going to need it. stephanie? kathy, thank you. >> public safety remains a top priority for people living in and traveling to san francisco. and joining us live to discuss plans for the new year is sheriff paul miyamot
