ucsf benioff children's hospital in oakland is facing legal trouble tonight. it's over an internship program that supports minority high school students interested in health care careers. a white 15 year old student who was rejected from the program has filed a lawsuit. nbc bay area's christie smith has the story that's new at six. our lawsuit is challenging the uc regents and ucsf benioff children's hospital of oakland for a discriminatory internship program that was denied to our client. that's attorney andrew niello with the pacific legal foundation. he's describing a federal lawsuit filed this week that centers on a high school minority internship program who declined to accept their client. the high school student who applied for t this internship, it's called the champ internship, and she was denied this opportunity because she was not the right race. the student is a white, 15 year old girl who attends high school in berkeley. in addition to the ucsf hospital, the lawsuit also names the uc board of regents. the champs program website says it supports mi
