nbc bay area's christie smith has the story that's new at six. our lawsuit is challenging the uc regents and ucsf benioff children's hospital of oakland for a discriminatory internship program that was denied to our client. that's attorney andrew niello with the pacific legal foundation. he's describing a federal lawsuit filed this week that centers on a high school minority internship program who declined to accept their client. the high school student who applied for t this internship, it's called the champ internship, and she was denied this opportunity because she was not the right race. the student is a white, 15 year old girl who attends high school in berkeley. in addition to the ucsf hospital, the lawsuit also names the uc board of regents. the champs program website says it supports minority high school students interested in health professions. the three year internship at ucsf benioff children's hospital oakland combines academics, career planning and clinical shadowing experiences. when she found out that this was an internship that w

nbc bay area's christie smith joins us live in windsor and christie. family was home when that landslide hit them. well, the homeowner says he was actually at work at the time and got a call from his wife, who was home, and she wasn't home alone. he says there was a sense of panic from her, as you can imagine, a very scary experience. the skies have cleared a day after heavy rain poured in the north bay, leaving a clear view of the damage left by a landslide. at this home in unincorporated santa rosa. as far as we know, the rainfall had been 4 or 5 days. it got to a saturation point in the ground and probably about 25ft of mud just kind of slid into the house and took out the house. robert boyd was still at work yesterday when his wife called trying to explain what happened. it was difficult to understand what she was saying and she was obviously panicking. she didn't know if she could get out. but. it was just so scary. another person in the home called 911. firefighters arrived quickly and managed to get everyone out, telling us. thankfully, there we
