an outdoor stadium for track and field, motorcycle and auto and rugby and cricket located in golden gate park, home to professional football, lacross and soccer. adjacent to the indoor arena. built in the 1920s. the san francisco park commission accepted a $100,000 gift from the estate to build a memorial in honor of pioneers in the area. the city and county of san francisco contributed an additional $200,000 and the stadium was built in a year. in the 1930s it was home to several colleges such as usf, santa clara and st. mary's for competition and sporting. in 1946 it became home to the san francisco 49ers where they played nearly 25 years. the stayed de yam sat 60,000 fans. many caught game the rooftops and houses. the niners played the last game against the dallas cowboys january 3, 1971 before moving to candlestick park. the stadium hosted other events before demolition in 1989. it suffered damages from the earthquake. it was reconstructed to seat 10,000 fans with an all weather track, soccer field and scoreboards. it hosts many northern california football championship games. local high

trees fell onto cars in golden gate park and another on to this parklet on union street. rachel gordon with san francisco public works says thankfully no one was injured in the storm, but crews were busy wednesday with reports of about 75 trees down. when you have high winds and saturated ground, there's less for the trees to hold on to win the ground. >> and the winds can topple them over. so we really want to take a look at that. we always have extra tree crews on hand during storms ready to go. public works. crews were also busy assessing the landslide on telegraph hill. it's and some and union streets about 400 cubic yards of rocks and dirt came into the road, according to gordon. no evacuations were needed and the integrity of the retaining wall was intact. we wanted to really pay attention to what was going on above the slide because their homes about there. so we had our engineers out last night on tuesday night and again wednesday morning to assess the situation. >> it looks like those homes are not at risk. so now we're going to be doing some cleanup. cleanup is

there was actually a fallen tree that jammed traffic in san francisco's golden gate park. now, citizen app video shows the tree blocked three lanes of traffic earlier on crossover drive. that is already a pretty slow going spot to begin with. no word yet, though, on any injuries with that tree fall. now, also in san francisco, one outdoor dining area completely crushed. a parklet on union street between laguna and buchanan was destroyed by another tree. up in santa rosa, severe flooding forced people at the sutter north bay health plaza to evacuate patients. a total of five people, some in wheelchairs, had to be moved out. firefighters brought in a paratransit van to get them to safety. workers at the health center say flooding has been a repeat issue there, so they've had to get creative at times to deal with the rising water. >> these are our linen bags for soiled linens. i have two of them on my feet. and i also took a tourniquet which we use to start ivs. it seems to be holding up. >> sonoma county was hit pretty hard today. parts of highway 101 were mostly underwater.
