mill valley, 2.76 berkeley hills, nearly two and three quarters napa over two, san francisco over one. but then down towards the south here san jose only 707 inch. but even san jose is going to get in on this hit here of heavy rain. so i wanted to show you the different layers in the atmosphere. it's not just one thing that's going to bring that rain. it's not just the atmospheric river. we have a system that's wrapped around this off to the north that's going to also pull in some moisture, but then down at the surface, this is the other catalyst that's going to add up these totals. and it's a stationary front that's going to stall out tomorrow. and that's how we will get in on some totals up as high as three inches. so let's move it into stormranger our doppler radar. and you'll see that rainfall is already developing here over the north bay. and just offshore a light green is light rain. darker green, moderate. and you get into the yellow. we're starting to see some heavier pockets now over santa rosa. and this will just continue tonight. so be careful out here throughout the north

santa rosa we know we didn't really need this much, but we got over seven inches of rainfall in mill valley. it was over six inches of rain and in napa five and a half. but in the east bay, we also had some pretty high rainfall totals in the berkeley hills over 5.75in of rainfall, while san jose had a little over an inch of rain there. and now that we are starting out with this cold morning, a lot of us are in the 30s. we're even seeing some temperatures dropping down into the mid 30s. the wind is calming down, the sky is clearing and it will be a cool day. but there is another storm system that will be arriving tomorrow and dragging down some cold air with it. we can already see the blue there on the map across the pacific northwest. that snow that's been happening in some of the upper elevations across the pacific northwest. by the time it arrives in the bay area, 5:00 tomorrow morning, we start out with some light rain that gets heavier and continues throughout the day, and then it starts to wrap up on friday, but that's another day with some off and on showers and another significant ra

mill valley had over six inches, and even in parts of the east bay we had some really high rainfall totalsver five inches for the berkeley hills and in san francisco, four inches, while san jose had one inch of rainfall. now the cold front has moved in and we are under a frost advisory until 9:00 for these areas shaded in blue, and our temperatures will dip to the low to mid 30s, we are already there now at 36 in napa, 34 in sonoma, but we're also seeing some mid 30s in parts of the east bay, and frosty conditions will be possible in the interior east bay as well as the south county. but then taking a look at our highs, this is lower than what we typically see even for this time in february, with a high of 57. in san jose, it will be 57 for that high temperature in concord, as well as some mid 50s for the north bay. tomorrow as that rain comes in, it's going to be widespread and our temperatures will remain very chilly, only making it up to 50 in napa and 59 in san jose. this will be a cold storm system dropping in. we can already see that it is producing some snow across the pacific north

but watch how they're starting to move in towards bolinas, over to mill valley.so right off of daly city. colma, westlake. another one's been out towards highway four, and now you're seeing san leandro over to san ramon, danville, dublin. but the main band has been right about hayward. fremont. see that over to livermore, altamont pass over and then stretching now from redwood city right over fremont. so that's one. and then also looks like right near the dumbarton bridge over to hayward, san leandro. so there's still a few. and they can produce brief heavy rain. santa cruz mountains though this time the leader of the pack ben lomond, loma prieta, boulder creek and bonny doon all between 1.85 and 2.66. i should add. loma prieta almost picked up three inches of rain, 24 hour totals. echo park in the hills there. morgan hill over two casadero guerneville, san rafael, saint helena, novato, santa rosa, yountville 1 to 2 west healdsburg 2.06. terra linda one and a half. walnut creek three quarters sfo, two thirds. oakland 0.60 and the city picked up 0.58. san jose pic

and a third look at this over mill valley, also over san pablo bay, marin county that is lit up san franciscoy as well along the i-80 corridor and also some areas on the peninsula lifting north south san francisco. also sfo then heading over to oakland, but san jose area getting just clipped by a little bit. not too much, but it's really about the system coming in tonight and you can see it's enhancement taking place with that cold air coming in to enhance it. so this will be a cold front coming in tonight right there. but it is kind of lifting a little bit more northward i should add. so i think the heaviest rain will be about san francisco oakland and then vallejo north doesn't mean you won't get south, but there could be some big time rainfall rates of three quarters to an inch per hour here by tonight. so look for heavy rain again coming in tonight. we'll get a break on wednesday. another system on thursday. winter storm warning in the mountains if you're going, probably not a good idea to go, but by the weekend should be fabulous with multiple feet. so blame it on the rain. highs only re
