mountain view getting just around a half an inch.ow that's just one part of the story, these atmospheric rivers bringing in the heavy winds. and we've seen gusty conditions along our shoreline anywhere up to around 50 60mph this morning. as we watch these winds stay strong throughout the next couple of hours. one of the highlighted areas that i want to keep a close eye on is, of course, the coastline. but some of our inland spots too, where we're under wind advisories with gusts expected anywhere up to around 60mph. so we advance the clock into the evening hours. tonight you notice that onshore wind, it actually changes directions. if we keep advancing the clock into the forecast tomorrow. but in the meantime, i just want you to know that if you have to drive along those low lying areas where flooding is potentially possible and you're also dealing with windy conditions, it's probably a better idea. just turn around or stay inside. extend your time inside a little bit more right now. now we head into our friday forecast. those shower

and as you can pick out in the south bay, scotts valley, santa cruz, out towards saratoga, mountain viewjose, morgan hill, we have those downpours this afternoon, wind reports. as you know, the winds have really been cranking up. and as you look, there's one site at sfo gusting. it was over 60 miles an hour right now, gusting to 47 miles an hour. our camera shaking around a bit in oakland. jack london square temperatures in the 50s. around 52 to 50 5 to 57 degrees. here's the setup. that atmospheric river is out here in the pacific. this area of low pressure setting up those strong winds for today. and that atmospheric river will definitely impact the sierra. that winter storm warning is in place right now until 10:00 pm friday. some hefty snowfall totals around 2 to 5ft. so into this afternoon we will be still be tracking some rain and maybe some thunderstorms. some breaks, but don't think it's over. we will have some more showers moving across the bay area tomorrow. the chance of some scattered showers. the best chance will be for the morning hours and then into the weekend. we're watc

the peninsula is wet all the way down towards mountain view and then shifting over towards the east. we have scattered showers on the east bay shore. this is another atmospheric river tapping into some colder air as this continues to push to the south. again, the next two storms are expected to be colder than what we had over the weekend. here's a look at the futurecast model. tomorrow morning we wake up with scattered showers, but by the afternoon it is calming down. if you do not have to be on the highways during the afternoon, perhaps avoid it. take a look at the oranges and the yellows and reds indicating downpour over the area. it does move out by tomorrow night. we are already drying out as it moves south and east. it will continue to pile up snow in the sierra, and it will head towards southern california for us again. several inches of rainfall expected. meanwhile in the sierra. feet of snow with levels all the way down to about 3000ft at some point. colfax is 2400ft, and that estimate there showing at least an inch. and southern california going to get some rain. thankfully,

and also the peninsula, and you can see the coverage is pretty good from south san francisco to mountain viewen though it's light to moderate, there's so much water on the roadways coming up on your car, your windshield wipers could be on high there and up towards the north bay. also, some coverage of rainfall returning from santa rosa, novato also back towards sonoma and napa. and for the east bay, it's very spotty here. we've had some drying at times and at other times some of that rain coming through. and that's really the nature of what we'll see here through this evening into 1130. now, as we roll through tomorrow morning, we'll continue to see the chance here of some scattered rain in the mix for us, even into tomorrow afternoon. we could get some rain popping for the south bay and the east bay, and a slight chance of some isolated thunderstorms, but overall totals we would add on tonight and tomorrow. not very high. only trace amounts to about a quarter of an inch. and now that wind forecast 930 tonight. we're still getting some strong gusts 20 to about 45mph coming out of the south an
