pg e says they are prepped for this storm. the utility has stockpiled equipment, wires and power poles which tend to get damaged during wet and windy weather pg. and he's also asking if you see any downed power poles are lines steer clear of them because they could be energized. still, meanwhile, chp is also on high alert there, keeping an eye on the wet roads. >> rain doesn't cause the crash. is the drivers do so really? it all just comes down to. remembering the rules and paying a little extra attention to them because you need extra time to get where you're going. any extra time to stop. >> officers say they will be looking for both speeders and reckless driving. drivers are encouraged to check your wipers before hitting the road and give yourself plenty of space between the car in front of you. >> and san francisco public works. officials have been preparing for possible flooding. kron four's gayle ong shows us which areas are the most vulnerable. >> umbrellas were out in san francisco friday. this after a prolonged drying

a pg e crews have been called in to help with this storm. our team >> storm making its way through the bay area. right now. we're taking a look here at our storm trackers who can see where the heaviest rain is at the moment. let's go to track this off for us in just a few minutes. >> and for your health this researchers are finding that a spoonful worth of tiny plastic shards are being found in the brain. >> that's that amount is up 30 times more than was to detect it in the kidneys and the liver. it's 50% higher than brain samples that were taken 8 years before. scientists say it's not exactly clear how much danger these plastics pows or whether or not the brain can flush them out like that, kidneys and the liver might be able to. so what are you supposed to do here? experts say avoid putting plastic food containers in the microwave, even just storing your food in plastic containers is not recommended. they're also saying use reusable aluminum water bottles. researchers are questioning the benefits of cold plunge is and whether or not they

pg and e says it has fewer than 10,000 outages. that's about half of what we saw earlier tonight as we bring in the bay area outage map. the peninsula continues to bear the brunt here, with more than 4600 customers affected and the north bay, they are seeing about 2100 customers with no power. the pg and e utilities saying it had crews and equipment in place ahead of the storm. >> e is prepared for this storm and our response to it, and we want to make sure that our customers are preparing as well. typically, it's the most of the impacts tend to be on the west side and in the elevated terrains. it's where we see higher winds. and when you combine winds with saturated ground, that's where we tend to see debris flow, potential vegetation failures which could get into our assets. >> the utility is urging customers to be ready for power outages, with an emergency supply kit containing water, nonperishable food, flashlights and of course, throw in some batteries. more wet roads down in the peninsula. you can see just how heavy that down
