neighborhood is getting a potentially life-saving speed camera today, it is at the geary boulevard and seventh avenue community is celebrating safer streets this morning, veronica. >> reporter: good morning, today's celebration marks a six-year journey for people who fought to make the streets safer and some of the people who are expected to be out here later today are people who have lost loved ones to a very preventable death, out here you can see already a sign is up letting drivers know they need to slow down, these speeding cameras are coming. we know that san francisco is helping them celebrate, and helping those victims along their journey to honor their lost loved ones. this area was chosen because city data shows there was a high number of traffic crashes here, between 2015 and 2024 there have been 13 deaths and some 700 reported crashes between 48th avenue, the executive director of walk san francisco calls this piece of legislation which permits the speeding cameras to go up a sweet victory for families who have a long journey getting a safety system in place and are hoping to prevent furt
