auto show with the outlook. lots of new car smells here at the silicon valley auto show at the santa clara convention center. 16 different makers are showing off their new models, and that means there are a lot of new ev options as well. this is brian moody from autotrader and kelley blue book. i think people would be surprised to see a car like this and know that it's electric, right? right. electric cars have matured to the point where we now have large three row suvs that are electric or performance muscle cars that are electric. this one is the dodge charger daytona. it's quick. it looks cool. it looks the part of a muscle car. right. it even makes the right sounds. so that's where we've been. they're not all small economy cars are electric. there are some different choices when it comes to electric only. a lot of folks are coming here looking for their next family car. they're worried about their personal economy. so is this a time for that? yes. this is a perfect place and time to do the research for that, because a lot of times people see the average price of new cars is on the rise. okay, that's true fo

tell me about the difference between there's an auto show in the silicon valley versus other places. what's unique about an auto show here in the silicon valley. >> what's unique about auto shows here the take rate on electric rates is higher than in the rest of the country. in this area of new car electric car sales would be around 25 to 30% of the new car market, whereas in the rest of the country it's like 7. 5 to 8%. here, people are more focused on electric cars. presumably because they've done the research and know they can make that work. if you can make that work, have a way to charge it up, i think everyone who drove an electric car would like it. >> reporter: how soon will we be flying around like the jetsons? >> i don't know. that is electric also interestingly enough. the flying car is electric with 110 mile flying range. i think there's hurdles to cross before we get there, but it does have a cool retro look. >> reporter: and those parts being made right here in the silicon valley. thank you. we'll send it back to you in the studio. >> the south bay this weekend, i have m
