in jesus name we pray, amen. >> they descend gentlemen, the united states naval academy performing o ages past. ♪ >> ♪ >> father, we have worship you and song as well. thank you for have given our national leadership the mind and heart to set aside this morning each year for 73 years to seek you. but the moment we leave here, the difficult, divisive challenges of our times will involve us yet again. please transform our minds and hearts to stay true to you in the face of the coming onslaught . first, remind us, dear god, that as civic leaders in this democracy we are called to follow the teaching laid out in matthew chapter 20 verse 26, which says whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant. we pray than for the wisdom to listen to the people we represent, for no leader succeeds if his goal is to rule rather than to serve. second, we remember the one law which you instruct us to follow in galatians chapter five, verse 14. to love thy neighbor as thyself. and we remember that as taught in romans chapter 14, verse 12, each of us will be called on to be accountable to yo
