just up the road.udslide that was triggered near big rock drive, bringing thick mud and rocks from the hillsides covering the road there. caltrans had already closed this stretch of pch last week indefinitely because of the potential for mudslides, which we're now starting to see, and it's still not clear exactly when it will reopen. but a major thoroughfare here that's been impacted by not only the wildfires, but also the weather, the wet weather today, many of the hillsides left with no vegetation and charred soil, which usually absorbs all of this rain that we're seeing. and as preparations have been underway in these local burn zones with tens of thousands of feet of k-rails and sandbags, the evacuation warnings in this area went into place at 7:00 this morning, and that means mandatory evacuation orders could follow. residents are being urged to prepare, pack an emergency kit, gather important documents and have an exit plan in place for family and pets. meanwhile, if we come back out here, live t

a hill of air edging up from the south.dge that storm track farther and farther to the north. we're looking at basically rain-free weather for the next couple of weeks in all likelihood. if not entirely rain free, below average rainfall as we finish the month of february and head into early march. we did see light rain earlier today. let's go back 12 hours. the radar replay shows the showers moving out of the bay area by early afternoon. and since then we have been drying out and clearing out. and we didn't add up a whole lot of moisture overall. let's take a look at the rainfall totals that we managed to accumulate out of this system. they were definitely on the low side. we're talking about on the high end of things a few hundredths of an inch, 0.07 of an inch in mill valley. san francisco picked up 0.04 of an inch, and san jose got shut out entirely. not exactly a surprise considering you're in the rain shadow of the santa cruz mountains, but this is the last of the rain we're going to see, at least for the next seven da
