chrystia freeland was talking about how canada has to develop a coalition with panama, denmark, and other like-minded countries to oppose the united states. it sort of morphed. what you see in the polling is that canadians are upset. 48% of canadians think the future of canada could be jeopardized. so it's pressuring the politics to the point where the conservatives, about a month ago, were ahead by 38%. now the conservative lead is dwindling to about 5% to 10%. the polls are showing that if the election were held tomorrow, conservatives get a narrow majority. the problem is the election is not going to be held tomorrow, it's going to be held in a month or two. we learned yesterday that potentially the tariffs, border -- the tariffs for border security and fentanyl could potentially come in on march 4, next week, and that the broader tariffs could come in on april 2. april 2, unfortunately, could be the first week of the federal election campaign in canada. the problem is this debate about tariffs and the united states has hijacked the whole canadian political discussion where the left is
