gilroy would not surprise to see that again today. a west northwest breeze in place, and you can see some of that activity sliding right there along 280. skyline down right into santa cruz highway one, and of course east san jose foothills. evergreen head up almost 6/10 of an inch of rain yesterday. 40s 50s on the temps had 30s to the north. and we'll get a lot of those starting friday, saturday and sunday. but after this system moves south we will be on the drier side. but that's a lot of cold air in place and you can see where the activity is. it's really west southwest of the city and south for everyone else. but more rain is on the way, but not really now. monday it will be southern california, monday night, central california, southern california. you see that lighting up. but we will get a pretty good system. it looks like next tuesday night into wednesday, so mix of sun and clouds, shades of cool though won't be very warm. scattered showers south, a little chill in the air. 50s on the temps. >> thank you steve. it's now 820. mo

rain chances there, while raining quite a bit for the south bay from san jose to morgan hill and gilroy. we are going to see those showers for napa. it will be a dry day and partly to mostly cloudy to start becoming sunny as we go into the afternoon. mike, you are focusing on the south bay for this first report because of the east bay standard build over there. we're showing wet roadways. the green highlighting here. but really the slowing for one on a crash blocking your two outer lanes. folks were squeezing through the two inner lanes. they were still open. last i checked there had been no progress. but i do see a better speed driving up past hamilton avenue. they may have made progress. we'll track this crash that will slow you from 85. heading up toward 280 on highway 17. there's another issue in the south bay as well. eastbound 237. if you're getting on to 680, you might have to get up to jacqueline road or landis avenue because of activity overnight. for more onn that, wll send it right back to you. all right, mike, thank you. and developing that water main break in the south bay

you can see that that cell moving across gilroy, san martin and gilroy, approaching hollister, that was in place for santa clara county, san benito county. the key concern with this storm, with this thunderstorm, some strong winds of 50 to 60 miles an hour and some small hail possible as well. in fact, the storm movement that was that, you can see moving at about to the southeast at about 15 miles an hour. but thankfully, as you can see with the radar trend, this storm is kind of dissipating and moving on out to the south and to the east. also, some lightning strikes detected with this cell as well. a couple lightning strikes as this moved across the southern santa clara county area into portions of san benito county. and as we take a look at the storm system itself on the satellite, most of the bay area. in fact, just enjoying partly to mostly cloudy skies and dry weather. but the focus has been closer to monterey bay, closer to the south bay as well. we are expecting some showers and even the possibility of some thunderstorms. that severe thunderstorm warning popped up at 230 this aft
