as a former national park employee, i have a lot of friends who are going through really hard times right now. i mean, every day on social media, i'm reading stories about people who have been fired. this was part of an action that spanned national park sites around the country. in the bay area, demonstrations were at the golden gate national recreation area, which includes the presidio and muir woods. last month, the trump administration fired some probationary park service employees as part of a broader effort to downsize government. these workers were new hires. still in a probation period. our federal workers are the ones who are out there taking care of things, saving lives. john goodwin knows firsthand. i'm a retired park ranger with the national park service. i work 27 years at various parks. he says he couldn't sit on the sidelines. we need to stop this nonsense. we need to hire back the people that were fired, not only national park service, but every federal government employee that's lost their job in the past six weeks. they need to be rehired. there's so much puni supporters
