drizzle really within the stripe of cloud across northern england, north wales and across northern irelandy spells developing further north, still windy for the far north and the west again. best of the sunshine, probably for the southern half of england into south wales too. and you can see temperatures start to rise in that milderfeeling air. as we head through the rest of the week, we start to draw in more of a southerly wind, so the temperatures are set to climb again. further spells of rain from these weather fronts out towards the far north and west, but generally the high pressure will hang on, although it could turn more showery by the time we get to the end of the week. but a lot more sunshine in store. here's the outlook for our capital cities. those temperatures starting to rise to above the seasonal average. you can keep an eye on the forecast for your local area, of course, on the bbc weather app, it's also got the sunrise and the sunset times. bye for now. this is bbc news — the headlines. sir keir starmer hosts a summit of european leaders on how best to secure the future of

it's been over northern ireland, scotland too. the skies have been a little cloudy. bit of light drizzle and rain here and there. that weather front is stuck in the area of high pressure. so it's not moving an awful lot, but it should be out of the picture mostly by the time we get to tomorrow. so here's the picture end of the afternoon. that weather front still over the irish sea into southern scotland. but for many of us it's a case of blue skies and temperatures of around nine celsius. tonight, the high pressure is right over us. that weather front still stuck in the high, so in some places it will be rather cloudy. but to the south we'll see a widespread frost, even in bigger towns and cities. a windless and calm, clear night here. so mist and fog in the morning, could be stubborn once again. so you'll wake up and we've got those grey skies, into the afternoon, the sun will be out. now, we're a little bit closer to weather fronts in the far northwest of scotland here. the high pressure will be in charge of the weather a little bit further south.
