we do know that mayor leary and his administration he's very eager and interested in garbage cans to maybe put more garbage cans out. also the district three supervisor has also asked for more garbage cans. >> so if we do take garbage cans out of a neighborhood like we did in north beach because there were some problems there we are working with that office now to see where can we put garbage cans there so people do have somewhere where they can put their little pieces of litter. garbage cans are not for household trash and and you know, a business trash. >> it's really if you have a coffee cup or a plastic bag or i wouldn't say a newspaper because you just get that online now but if you have little small pieces of trash we want or your dog waste we want to have somewhere where people can can put that because i don't think we're at the place now in san francisco where people are going to take their trash and bring it home always some people will and properly dispose of it. so we are always looking for that sweet spot. okay so we do know if we don't get these new trash cans again we d

supervisor chen and the 33 community organizations including our culture districts that appealed to mary leary and my colleagues to amend the legislation that was originally introduced by the former mayor that would exempt nonresidential two residential conversions from any inclusionary housing requirements affordable housing fees and childcare fees. >> the proposed legislation will eliminate impact fees for projects that convert office space to housing in the soma tenderloin, chinatown, north beach and surrounding neighborhoods during a time when we absolutely need more affordable housing the projects that this legislation will incentivize will be market rate with no one side affordable housing and will provide zero funding for affordable housing impact fees, zero funding for child care impact fees that goes towards child care facilities. >> the impetus for this legislation doesn't emerge from vacuum or even from the recent past. there is a long tragic history upon which this legislation builds and tries to solve for between the 50s, late 40s and the 70s the san francisco redevelopment agency
