we are expecting a press release any minute now from piedmont police. kind of putting all this into context, reporting live outside piedmont police. i'm leslie brinkley, abc seven news. >> okay, leslie. thank you. a motorcycle driver has been killed in a hit and run that was on the bay bridge. all lanes are open again. the crash happened this afternoon just west of the toll plaza. now, the chp tells us a car hit a motorcycle which threw the rider from their bike. then a second car hit the rider and took off. the driver was declared dead on scene. the motorcycle driver. the police are looking for the suspect. who? that of that second vehicle that then took off. >> in the north bay. there is growing outrage and concern about the dangers of fentanyl. this comes after two santa rosa high school students overdosed on that synthetic manufactured drug. abc seven news reporter cornell barnard spoke exclusively with the sonoma county district attorney about the case and her message to the public about the dangers of fentanyl. >> if i could shout from the rooftop

there is more breaking news, new details about the pre-thanksgiving crash in piedmont that killed three college students. we're learning more about their final hours and the desperate efforts by friends that saved one person's life. >> abc seven news reporter leslie brinkley joins us live with the new information that was just released hours ago. leslie. >> yeah, that information came from chp. piedmont police told me that gives them a lot more to look at as part of their still ongoing investigation into that november 27th crash. and that is the new chp 18 page report. and that report shows that a high rate of speed was the cause of the accident. and a cyber truck with four people in it. uh- who were found to be driving under the influence, unable to negotiate. chp said the curve ahead because the driver was impaired. now the driver was sean dixon, also dying in the crash. krista tsukahara and jack nelson. a fourth student, jordan miller, survived the crash as the cybertruck plowed into a tree and a retaining wall and burst into flames. the four college students had all graduated from p

we've learned the evening started around 830 with a group of friends gathering at a house in piedmont. they hung out for hours and drinks were involved. the witness says around 3 a.m, they left and went to dixon's home because he wanted to get the cybertruck. three people got into the cybertruck with him. two others stayed in the other car, following the cybertruck. the person driving that other car says soren was driving normally, but when he turned the corner onto hampton road, he saw the car on fire. a few weeks ago, a toxicology report showed all four people in the cybertruck tested positive for cocaine, marijuana and also alcohol. a student was arrested for bringing a gun to a fremont middle school. school administrators searched the student's backpack and located the firearm at centerville middle school. police say the student never pulled the gun on anyone or made any sort of threats, but that student has been arrested on gun related offenses, with the potential of more charges to come. >> a teacher in the north bay has been arrested on suspicion of lewd acts with a student. th

the deadly cyber truck crash that killed three college students in piedmont. the chp just released a report that says speed and intoxication caused the crash. it happened back on november 27th near hampton road and king avenue. the chp says the driver was drunk and had methamphetamine in his system that night. they believe that his level of intoxication and speed he was driving caused him to miss the turn onto hampton road. the cyber truck then crashed into a wall and erupted into flames, killing soren dixon, krista tsukahara, and jack nelson. the chp says the driver survived because he was pulled from the cybertruck by a friend who was driving behind them. there's a nationwide call today to stop all shopping for 24 hours. it's called an economic blackout, and people in the bay area tell us they are participating in the boycott, called for people not to shop or put gas in their cars today as a show of economic force. the protest is against the dismantling of dei policies in the federal government and many major national store chains. another reason is the thre
