and san francisco being one of the wealthiest cities that, street homelessness in particular, chronic homelessness. as we government folks call, it is such a powerful contrast. and and i wonder i like to think of it as sort of the most visible form of poverty and and i think for so many people, it is that moral power of it that either draws them in or for most people turns them away. and i wonder if you could talk a little bit about that experience of how you see your reporting and this book trying to pierce a little bit of that invisibility for many of these folks? yeah, for for most folks, when you pass by, when they pass by chronically homeless people on the street, they see, you know, men and women in tents shooting up drugs, sleeping on the sidewalk in the dirt, panhandling. they they see the the one dimensional picture and they don't see what's behind it. what led to it. that's what interests me is what led people to this. there are, of course, many other kinds of homeless folks. now, the chronic homeless folks are only like 22. well, sometimes 40%, depending on where you're at.
