(vicki) and i'm vicki liviakis. two new arrests come a day after the a- t-f- announced a 20 thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible in that shooting at an air bnb mansion in orinda. kron 4's dan kerman joins us live from the newsroom with more- dan here's what we know.... law enforcement agencies conducted raids thursday in martinez and vallejo as part of the investigation into the orinda halloweeen murders. 2 people were arrested.the first is 29 year old dominic dones... he has been charged by the contra costa county da with felon in possession of a firearm and felon in possession of ammunition. dones has a prior felony conviction for second degree robbery in santa clara county, and that prevents him from having a firearm. he is due to be arraigned on monday... also arrested is 29 year old frederick johnson of vallejo. he was also wanted in connection with the orinda murders, but at this

on thursday evening, there was a halloween party being held at an air bnb rental they hear in orinda at this home apparently about 100 people were in attendance which is far beyond the maximum allowed which apparently was 13. now a police officers from or enda arrived just after around 11 o'clock on thursday evening after reports of shots fired they found at least 3 gunshot victims who had died inside the home. an additional 5 people were taken to the hospital. one of those people who was taken to john muir medical center in walnut creek. also died. one person is in critical condition. another is in serious conviction condition. authorities say there could be additional people who are also injured the neighbors along this quiet street this quiet neighborhood in orinda say that they had heard the party earlier in the evening and that when the gunshots rang out a chaotic scene erupted in see anything but we heard a bunch of gunshots actually aired. >>neighborhood i heard it and then people were screaming clean down the hill. i think everybody in our neighborhood immediately lock their

the city of orinda doe hose being memorialized in downtown orinda. we're learning about the motive in the halloween night shooting. nbc bay area learned two victims of the thursday night may be kle in san francisco in 2015. one of thursday's victims was the younger brother of the defendant in the 2015 shooting and reports that law enforcement is looking into whether the shooting was an act of retaliation. tonight orinda will consider under consideration requiring the home be owner-occupied when renting out a room. the owner be there on-site. requiring a two-day minimum stay for renters instead of a one-night party. even possibly eliminating airbnb altogether. as it stands now orinda does require short-term rental to register an occupancy task and a maximums violated during the hollywood party last week which had over a hundred people in attendance. >> there is a range of things to do to try to eliminate the kind of thing that occurred the other night. the thing that occurred the other night was not in accordance with the ordinance. you're not allowed

anne makovec is live at the orinda station with more on the breakdown and the panic that followed. anne. >> reporter: oh, really was a mess. all told, nine people were treated for medical issues and we just found out from the fire department saying it was not smoke, it was brake dust that was filling the bart cars. but it affected a lot of people negatively. 700 people were stuck inside a tunnel inside a train for almost an hour and the entire pittsburg-bay point bart line was affected for most of the morning. passengers were taken out on stretchers once they arrived at the rockridge bart station this morning. the train they were riding had suddenly stopped in the berkeley hills tunnel partially filled with smoke. >> an emergency brake was engaged by accident, not on purpose, and that emergency brake caused white smoke. there was never a fire. but there was a good amount of white smoke and the smoke caused many of the people on board to not feel well. >> reporter: it took an hour for the train to be able to move again on its own continuing to rockridge as the stations on either sid

we're talking about orinda officials with the orinda moraga fire district are considering a new ordinance that would require homeowners to get rid of all flammable vegetation and material within five feet of their homes. that includes plants and grass, wood fencing and any other combustible materials. joining us now is the mayor of orinda, darlene gee. mayor gee, thanks for being with us. how widespread is this problem in your city of orinda in terms of homeowners being dropped by their insurance companies? well, raj, we were the absolute most affected community in the state of california for insurance. non-renewals. and considering that we're only 19,000 people, we had a huge impact, perhaps as much as a third of our residents received non-renewal this year. that is a huge number. all right. so the idea here is to protect the homes in orinda from wildfire and get insurance carriers back. madam mayor, will this work to get those companies back? well, that's not guaranteed. raj. so that is going to be something that's going to be a big matter of discussion in terms of whether this ordinanc
