i have to confess -- i have a bit of a warm spot for ymca because my father was a director of a ymca in chicago, so we grew up with the same level of exposure that i know rodney like to apply as the executive director of our ymca in the began an area of the western addition. it is not the largest ymca in san francisco, but it has served thousands and thousands of people, and how it is well used is a real testament to the incredible administration by rodney and his staff, who was able to serve a community that is incredibly diverse. it exists right off very facing japan town out webster, and it exists in what is known as the western addition. but japan town and the fillmore were united before it was installed, in many ways, also of building the steps of redevelopment over the past years. that ymca over the last few years has served as a linchpin and it did it to really help bring together a number of communities from the asia- pacific community and the african-american community to get there. it has really proven to be quite an effective template in showing what foster in collaboratio

urban development services ymca. first of all, let me thank you for your continued interest and support of the truancy assessment and referral center. we have been working since january to come up with a comprehensive strategy and plan and have actually begun to launch a pilot that my colleague, the director of the tarc center, will give you more details about. we have worked collaborative with the school district, the police department, the youth program urban services, ymca, juvenile probation, and the d a's office to develop a pilot that was launched late april through the end of the school year, and we targeted this pilot with two communities that contributed most to the chronic and habitual truant to population, and that was in bayview and the western addition, so with the baby station and the northern station in particular, and we then went out and did a lot of outreach to all the roll calls for both of the stations and talked with police officers. we have done outreach to the community resource centers, with a

i am speaking on behalf of the high school at the embarcadero ymca. i want to thank supervisor scott wiener and john papillose for their donations to support the high school. we serve kids and all sentences for districts. we serve kids that have not very well in mainstream high school. the monthly cost to educate a student is $2,500. the state of california monthly cost is $7,571. the annual cost to educate an inmate in our state is $15,780. i would like to share our story. she is 17. before she came to the high school, she was a truant and did not care about school. she came and turned her life around and became the salutatorian of this year's graduating class. next is jonathan. jonathan, while being at the high school, got off do not probation, and graduated this year. we're asking the city for financial support. two of years ago, we were receiving dcyf funding. that funding was cut. we were able to stay open to the ymca annual fund-raising campaign but we need your help. the students need your help. finally, i would like to leave you -- supervisor

they brought in collaboration with them we have central ymca, another vet eran organization and they really compliment themselves well, but in addition we also brought in safe passages of tenderloin based organization that helps kids get safely lieu -- lieu through the tenderloin. we brought in san francisco center and a theatre group through the boys and girls club. we are looking at a diverse and rich organization that is going to activate this clubhouse. these community meetings told us a lot about what was going to be needed there and it took tremendous effort to organize that and being able to activate this properly. >> so here we have the boeddeker park community park logo. and we brought this to the operations committee and commissioner bonilla brought up the point that has been in the conversations from the very very beginning. how do we keep boeddeker park safe? we have this wonderful activation, we have this positive activation going on but we have to keep this park safe and we need to keep it clean and fun. it works well for a park. but the security and safety approach to

we worked very closely with the ymca design team, the structural engineering team and port engineeringinsure that the new seismic scope will meet the code requirements, building code requirements and will provide and are still provide for building that is enhanced seismic resiliency as compared to the existing condition. so, with that, there are just a very few changes, amendments to the lease. one is that with this change to the seismic scope, we will be eliminating the need for the port to provide up to $500 thousand in rent credits to share the cost for that seismic work. and then due to the delay associated with this need to rethink the seismic scope and redesign the project to accommodate that change, we are pushing back the rent commencement date from july 1 of this year to october 1 of this year, so three months more to complete the project and get the building open before rent begins. and then the last thing that i wanted to highlight is that, there are public restrooms in this building that are very important. everyone is eager for those to be open and available to park visito
