worth, so things appear to be improving somewhat across the metroplex, but there is still now a line of storms that's coming between ft. worth and dallas, and there is a little rotation within that. so certainly there is still tornadic potential with that. the storms that we saw earlier are passing now to the north. they are moving up into the very northern part of the state of texas, moving away at about 25 miles an hour. here you're looking at video of the tornado that we saw earlier today. now, this was the storm that came up into dallas county, in the southeast side of dallas. you see the power flashes there. we've seen a pretty good bit of damage. most of what we've seen seems to be in the realm of ef-1 or ef-2 damage, so low to moderate in terms of the amount of damage. when you're looking at there is what we call the condensation funnel. that's the actual cloud that is formed by low pressure within that circulation, but then at the interface there, the bottom, that is the suction spot, the dust envelope, and it was not only dust but it was debris that was being picked up by th

the heavy showers and storms, you see it over the dallas metroplex. they've had over five inches of rain yesterday. the rains continue this morning extending into a severe thunderstorm watch in parts of southeast texas. the rain goes all the way up to missouri and iowa. around here the cluster of storms we've been watching across northern maryland, the maryland-pennsylvania border during the overnight. we're going to continue to watch that move south and east. by noon we should be partly sunny. this afternoon can't rule out the isolated storm popping up. then tonight with the marine air coming back, we could have a shower but also see more fog returning like we have the last few nights. kind of like los angeles lately with the marine layer coming in and bringing the low clouds and fog. 74 today. some sun. chance of that afternoon storm. tonight we'll be back in the 50s. mid-70s tomorrow. afternoon storm. thursday and friday look pretty good, upper 70s to around 80. unsettled this weekend. temperatures cooling down into the 60s with showers and storms.
